You will, eventually… 😉 I liked the book, I wouldn’t say it’s much like FSOG though. The coupe is even younger, lots of drama but other than that not too much in common with FSOG. It was an enjoyable read.

Luckily for me, by the time I finished the trilogy, the first book in Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series had been published, so I went straight on to that. Next in line were ‘Gabriel’s Rapture’ and Gabriel’s Inferno’ by Sylvain Reynard. I tried ‘Beautiful Disaster’ but the sex was a bit too tame for me after Fifty 😉

I just read Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture by Sylvain Reynard in 4 days. I loved them and the author is writing a third in the series.

I am ashamed to say that I have yet to complete another book since I discovered FSOG!
Like you I am an avid reader and even though I work full time I would still read at least 1 book per week but I just can’t enjoy anything else!
I have read the trilogy so many times & also read every fanfic going!
I got Ash by James Herbert for Christmas and normally I couldn’t put it down but after 2 weeks off work I had only read 200 pages as everytime I got an alert for any updates the book was put down!
I’m sure in the real world it is wrong to hate Ana and be in love with Christian …. no??

I must have a look at that book though I don’t know anyone who has read it (in real life I mean lol) – a girl in work told me about a book, Bare to You – like FSOG it is a trilogy and she said it was actually better! the cheek of her 🙂
I downloaded it onto the kindle but haven’t even looked at it
I think I will stick to the sex God that is Mr Grey in the meantime and get my jollies from Meander and hope that one day we get it from his POV!

The Crossfire books were my first after FSOG. Now I’m reading Call the Midwife (because I saw the TV series on PBS). But I did feel for awhile that I had an addiction!

I read the Crossfire books too and loved them, I too loved Beautiful Disaster. If you are looking something with hot sex then read Olivia Cunnings books, the Sinners and Sole Regret books are really hot. The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle is also pretty hot. I also loved Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, a real page turner and also Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines. And you can’t go past Thoughtless and Effortless by S.C.Stephens. All of these books have a great love story at the heart of them and I really enjoyed them

Hadn’t read a book in many years – not completely true – I had owned every Barney and Little Critter book known to man LOL busy raising kids. after reading FSOG 3x I read the Crossfire series. Felt uncomfortable, as though I was cheating on Christian but eventually fell in love with Gideon. Recently, the Gabriel books. Enjoyed both. Need to start obsessing over some other f’d up man. Too busy reading fanfic right now.

After the first 3 re-reads I was curious about it being a FF? I had not heard of it, so I read all 3 Twilight books to see what all the hoopla was about it being “a take off”. I guess I thought I was too old for them when they came out…then it was Gabriel, and then Gideon thanks to you! Thank you Jo Fergus for your suggestions. Oh, and add a few more FSOG reads in between.

Well after reading fsog 4 times over (all three books) I read the crossfire series then ALL of sylvia days books then beautiful disaster . Just finished up Hopeless, and raine millers naked and All In. And of course your blog every chance I get!

What’s Hopeless like? Did you see the similarities between Gideon and Eva and Sylvia Day’s Seven Years to Sin? Apparently that’s what she based them on. also have you read Tiffany Reisz and I’m surprised that no-one has mentioned On Dublin Street.

Forgot!! I read Dublin street and loved it! Wish there was a second book! Hopeless was really good and a super fast page turner. They are young like beautiful disaster but the make outs were hotter definitely, reminded me of being in live for the first time . You are right with the Same theme as bared and 7 years to sin. A definite Good read. Also the Naked and All in by raine miller fifty knock off with bared theme. Good read as well!

It is! Reizs has a lot of books in the series, some of them short story fillers in between books, make sure you pick those up as well. I love the main character’s sense in humour in the books.

I am so glad I am not the only one that feels this way. I can’t even count how many times I read FSOG. I would finish the 3rd and then start over with the first. The Crossfire books were the first books I read after I finally got up the courage to look for somehing new and really liked those. Read Gabriel’s Inferno/Rapture, but didn’t like them as much. The one I just finished is On Dublin Street and I loved it and would definitely recommend it!

LOL! I just said I was surprised that no-one has mentioned Dublin street. If you go onto Goodreads she’s written a little Christmas one-shot for Dublin Street. It’s quite cute. Gabriel’s I think I would’ve enjoyed more if I read it before FSOG but after, the male lead just didn’t quite make it to Christian levels for me.

I read the first Crossfire novel and didn’t like it much, Gideon is just too crazy. I’m sure both Day and James would be flattered by this analogy but he’s Heathcliff to Grey’s Rochester.
The book that really brought me out of my reading funk was The Siren by Tiffany Reisz , shocking, witty and sexy. It’s the first part of a trilogy but a warning, it’s quite hardcore.

I loved Reisz as well, there’s a whole bunch in the series, some of them short stories. She’s got a great sense of humour. For the sheer fun of it I also enjoyed Wallbanger.

I liked it but don’t expect the serious similarities to FSOG that you found in Crossfire and FSOG. Also it’s VERY tame. Interesting question: I wonder if FSOG would have been the hit it is if it’s popularity came after Crossfire and not before? Like you, after the first Crossfire book I was hesitant but after the second book I was completely hooked! I almost cried when she moved her publishing date to May!

It’s so funny you ask this question. I was the same way when I read twilight years ago. I couldn’t imagine ever reading another book again. That’s how I got into fanfiction. I needed MORE. More Edward Cullen and more Bella Swan. Read a lil story called Master of the Universe. Became obsessed… And here we are, 5 years, with me reading FSOG fanfiction. I’ve read other books here and there, but I primarily go for fanfiction twilight/FSOG now. Maybe I’m nuts but that’s fine with me : )

After reading FSOG, I was depressed that it ended so read it 5 more times. LOL! Found the Crossfire series – yay! Can’t wait for the 3rd book in May. Next was Dublin Street which was a good read. Then I discovered Fanfic – thank goodness I found you Monique! I also read Sasha Cameron’s blog as well as a few others. I also follow you on twitter, Monique. What can I say? I’m obsessed! Ha!

I love that you posed this question and have gotten some new ideas for continued reading! It took me 5 times of reading FSoG before i felt ready to move on. I read the Gideon books, and like some others have mentioned, felt like i was cheating on Christian. I then moved on to Raine Miller’s Naked and the Because You are Mine series by Beth Kery. Most recently, i read Temptation by KM Golland. I loved that book and am awaiting the 2nd book. The Gabriel books and On Dublin St. are next on my list as i find time to work real books in among the great fan fics i read :).

It was pretty good. Definitely filled the need after i ran out of Christian and Gideon. It’s an 8 part series, but each book is quite small, so i found that a bit annoying, but the story itself was worth the read!

After FSOG, I read Bared to You and was immediately hooked! After that, I read The Marriage Bargain, Discovery of Witches, Beautiful Disaster, Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture, Thoughtless, Effortless, several Sylvia Day books…there are about 50 unread on my Nook and I can’t keep up (read 46 so far :)! I have to say, it was the Twilight books that got me started last spring and now I can’t read enough!

My first read was Crossfire series, which I did love but not as much…..my worst read since I would say is “Haven of Obedience” which the cover page says something like, “if you loved fifty shades”….and it’s a total lie, the book was nothing like fifty and it makes me mad they can even say that, it was garbage! I also loved Beautiful Disaster, Dublin Street and my new favorite is absolutely “The Edge of Never”…..it made me laugh and cry and I might be so bold to say it may even slightly top Fifty Shades (or tie) with it!

Are the Gabriels Inferno books romantic with a good story? To me, I didn’t like the sinners on tour book at all so I won’t read the rest….it wasn’t romantic to me at all. Just porn for the sake of porn. I like the whole package..threesomes are a limit for me hahaha

Other than the FF that I love, the first complete book I read was actually written by one of the authors of some of the FF I read. The Education of Sebastian. So good I read it twice and am anxiously awaiting the sequel, The Education of Caroline, next month.

I downloaded The Education of Sebastian by Jane Harvey Berrick to my tablet but haven’t started it yet. If you follow her page she writes a really good storyline from the point of view of Taylor, Christian’s bodygaurd. The stories are a hoot to read from his perspective and follows the books pretty closely.

I can so relate! My first book after the FSOG trilogy was the crossfire series and then I read those two book multiple times as well! I keep reading all five plus FF, and I have no idea where to go next!! I am afraid nothing will be as good as those by Sylvia or EL James! Uuugh!

I enjoyed Dublin street myself. If I were you I’d go straight to This Man and Beneath This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas. Do not pass go, go not collect your $200… LOL! For me, though it was very intense, it rated up there with FSOG and Crossfire.

I went from FSOG to Bared to You, Reflected in You and alot of FanFiction related to FSOG. I love Christian and Anastasia and didn’t think I’d ever read anything else that would affect me the way their story did. Gideon and Eva’s love story has captured me and I can’t wait until May. I have become addicted to FSOG Fan Fiction too – I didn’t even know anything like this existed – how fascinating. Such creative people with stories that keep Christian & Anastasia fresh in my mind. I wish they would hurry up with the screen play. Can’t wait. Happy reading everyone!!

I REALLY hope the movie has a dark, edgy side….I would love to see inside Christians nightmares, hoping they show us some of what he went through as a child before he was adopted (although it would be sad to watch)….I have high hopes that it isn’t just so-so.

Syliva day has written several really good books, Seven Years to Sin was really good with Jessica and Alistair, The Stranger I Married was also very good. I just found a new book that I read in two days by J Kenner called Release Me, story line is more similar to Eva and Gideon as Nikki Fairchild and Damian Stark both have damaged pasts. The second book in the storyline will be called Claim Me but isn’t coming out until July 2nd so you get hooked and have to wait like with the Crossfire Series. I’ve downloaded On Dublin Street to my tablet but am just finishing up Release Me so haven’t started it yet. Who writes the Gabriel series that several people have mentioned?

Hi! Wow! I thought it was just me! I re-read the trilogy 3 times before I started anything else…I felt lost and needed to be close to the characters all over again. I truly fell in love with Christian and Ana.
I moved on to Bared to you by Sylvia Day next – I am a big fan there to. I then read read Beautiful Disaster also – Love that book too! Then I read Cutters Vs Jocks and then Binding Arbitrations – Gorgeous Story!
And from then I have read over 150 Ebooks. I have to thank EL James for renewing my passion in reading again…and also unlocking something in me allowing me to truly feel again!

I thought with the fact that I wrote fan fiction my obsession was implied… 😉 I think you’ve touched onto something very important there at the end of your comment, life is a lot of wonderful things but you easily get bogged down with the mundane, it has a way of blunting the senses so that everything you see is in, well, shades of grey. It’s ironic that a book of the same name puts a little colour back in one’s life.

I read Backstage Pass right after and liked it, but then read Bared to You by Sylvia Day and LOVED it. While waiting for the second installment I read more books by Sylvia Day to tide me over. I absolutely love Gideon. I cannot wait until May! I’ve also read Thoughtless and Effortless and the drama left me a bit drained. I also read Gabriel’s Inferno and Rapture and it was a bit tame for me. I enjoyed On Dublin Street as well. I went on to This Man and am waiting for the second one to come out next week.

Pre FSOG I wasn’t an avid reader. I always had a book on the go. Bedtime reading, taking a few weeks.. Started FSOG on holiday, couldn’t put it down. So much so it was an effort to spend time with hubby and kids.. Lol…finished final book on flight home and was so upset, I read again, and then again.. That was sept.. Did buy the Sylvia Day books, but haven’t started them. I hadn’t heard of fan fiction before, found moniques story and she pointed me in sashas direction, so they have kept me going ! I couldn’t let these characters go, I have stuck to following various stories, but only ones recommended by Monique or Sasha, dont want a story that would ruin it for me…Love love love Moniques story. Also sasha has kept me going with her Kate and Elliot stories. She has expanded those two so much that I do feel I have moved onto a new book.. But still can’t leave the Greys just yet !!

Had to force myself to finally read something other than FSOG, and then like everyone else, enjoyed the Crossfire books, and On Dublin Street. (And thank you for the link to the one shot). My biggest reads have been exploring fan fiction, which is new to me. Discovering a really good story online is like opening a favorite Christmas present. I will say I am having trouble dealing with the addiction, but it’s opened a place in my heart that I almost forgot was there. Thank you, Monique…your new chapters are therapy for the heart!

Like many others, after FSOG I started reading Bared To You, then reflected in you. I’m still not as hooked to Eva & Gideon as I am with Christian & Ana. But I do love them!!! Can’t wait until May!!! Funny how we’re all reading the same things, Crossfires series, Seven Years to Sin, The Stranger I Married, Gabriel’s Inferno, Gabriel’s Rapture (can’t wait for book 3. I saw a pic of David Gandy as Professor Emerson before I read the books. That pic got me interested in the series. Needless to say I had David Gandy on my mind while reading the series.) Funny little story… I was standing next to a little old lady with a cane in the Romance section watching her browse through books. Hope I’m still interested in Romance novels when I’m her age. ; )

The first book I read was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn(after re-reading 50 shades about 3 times) it was a nice little mystery book. I thought I finally had the triology out of my system when I stumbled upon fanfic, so many great writers writing stories about characters I can’t get enough of 🙂 so I find myself a bit obsessed with fifty shades fanfiction at the moment.

I read FSOG 3 times before moving on but it was pretty quick. The next book was Bared to You which I didn’t like as much and at the time I put it down to being too in love with Christian. As time wore on and I read more and more books I realized that the problem was I didn’t fall in love with Gideon. Then I discovered Shayla Black and my perspective changed completely on erotica. Never thought I would want to read a menage story but she is so good at writing them that I fell for each of her heroes and their ‘assistants’. 🙂 No that does not mean I want to try one but she sure makes them sound like fun.

The Crossfire series helped me out of my dry spell 8 months after FSOG. And it was only my obsession with fanfiction that helped me to move on with Gideon Cross. I found a great crossover story with CG, Ana, Gideon and Eva and was thinking who is this Gideon that’s bigger and possibly better that CG. Finally I realized that there was a whole series written about his hotness. I read them (twice) and just like that I was back in the reading game. Just finished the Thoughtless series and Collide…loved, loved, loved them.
