Book club

Hello ladies, I hope you’re enjoying a good weekend, I sure did… it was DATE NIGHT!!!! 😉 😉

I had to have a little giggle at all the grateful comments about chapter 37 – not leaving you hanging… Just so you know, it took everything I had not to end it at the scene where Ana’s laptop lost the viewing feed to the inauguration… I know it would have been too cruel but I must confess I was seriously tempted 🙂

One of our readers, Winterstorm posted this: I just finished Rock Me in record time! Thanks for listing it, now think I need to move onto leave me breathless now that you’re recommending it as well :) . I try not to read books back to due to the lack of sleep and kids taking advantage of my distracted attention … I think that’s what parents on crack are like…. Lol

It got me thinking, that’s so true so  I’d like to officially coin a phrase today: RIO which stands for Reading Induced Oblivion: the state you’re in when you’re reading a good book and so drawn in, so captivated that nothing around you matters…. husband, kids, cat, dog, shopping all ceases to exist. Have you been there? Oh I know you have… LOL! 😉

Thank you Winterstorm for sharing!

Anyway, this week I finished Bared to You by Sylvia Day (again) and Conviction (Club Destiny) by Nicole Edwards

f3  book bc

I still maintain that Bared to You, though extremely similar to FSOG is an awesome read, I loved it all over again.

Conviction, well, WHOA! Smokin’ is what I have to say about this one.  Holy moly, gotta’ love those brothers… 😉 A little light on the drama for my taste but it sure made up for it in the romance department!

Currently I’m reading

f4  bookss

Seeing as I read the first one I had to follow with the second book of the Crossfire series; Reflected in You by Sylvia Day, a big break from the similarities that the fist book shared with FSOG and, as far as I’m concerned, an even better read!

Mine to Hold, Shayla Black was on my shelf last week but I didn’t get to it so hopefully this week though I have no doubt it would be awesome, she writes beautifully.

On my shelf – waiting NOT so patiently is

rocked under

Rocked Under by Cora Hawkes

Have a good week and happy reading…

Me too, I hate that she’s moved it twice already! Ooooh The man so did it for me, glad you also enjoyed it. I’ve read book 1&2 of Matthews, I’ve pre-ordered book 3 but I still need to be convinced it’s a good read and even though it’s one of those: if you liked FSOG you’ll like this book” ones I’ve not had a single comment on it so I’m wondering if folks read it and didn’t like it or if it’s unknown.. What did you think?

Loved both After Dark books and I have also pre-ordered the third. I like to read the books and also listen to them when I walk for exercise and the Matthews books are not on audio, bummer. I have become quite the reader, loved On Dublin Street, liked Fade into me, you and forever. Loved Love Unscripted and Unrehearsed by Tina Reber. Loved the 2 Gabriel books, Loved Crossfire also can’t wait for the third, Liked Anything he Wants, curious about the next one, Didn’t like Destined to Play so I didn’t read the next one, Liked The Pleasures of Winter, sorry that the next one is not a continuation of their story, Liked/Enjoyed the Marriage Bargain, Trap and Mistake – cute love stories with sex. I have the Proposition and Proposal sitting on my night stand so that will be the next 2 for me.

Im re-reading this man now after finishing beneath this man on the weekend. Its interesting because jesse tells ava (in not so many words) how much he loves her right from the start. Plus the first time i read it, he came across as a man with a very bad temper (wife beater) but second time around i still find him crazy but can totally see why hes like that with ava. As for matthews…book 1 was ok but book 2 was great! Loved the vibe between the russian and beth. I kinda want her to stay with the oldie rather than dominic. I am looking forward too book 3 but not as much as EWY! Also a big fan of lesley pearce. Im nearly 30 and fsog was the first book i ever read! And now i cant stop reading!!! I wake up every sat morning to read your blog. Love it!!

No way, that’s insane! I’m so happy you joined the reading ranks! I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t read! My hubby asked me the other day if I’d be able to love without technology for a week and I said ‘yeah, sure” but not my phone, not because I need it to phone but because all my books are on there… 😉 I also enjoyed the second book more than the first of Matthews’ series but like you, the week EWY comes out you guys can forget about an update… LOL! I don’t know Lesley, I’ll check her out. Thanks xx

Date night huh? Lucky girl 🙂

I just finished Reflected in you and i can see why you prefer them more than fifty. And same as you… I agree that Reflected in you define the differences it shares with FSOG in the first book. I like reflected in you better than bared to you. I guess like FSOG, you cant stop at book 1.

If its not for the bad ending of book of grey i wouldnt even consider reading darker. And same as bared to you.. If its not because of curiousity thanks to a fanfic cross over on crossfire and fifty, i would probably not going to continue reading RIY. But glad i did. Its different from fifty and i like the fact that Eva is stonger than Ana in speaking up her mind.

But… I still prefer fifty over crossfire. Its a great story, great plot but emotionally in think fifty got me. Hahhahah..

Will you do another one shot at crossfire series? It would be interesting if you do.

Im getting the education of Sebastian today. Let see how that goes. 🙂

Indeed, very lucky… 😉 I would love to write more on Crossfire but something’s gotta’ grab me you know? I saw the gap in RIY but now I’m waiting for book 3 for inspiration, somehow I can’t wrap my mind around doing what I’m doing for FSOG for Crossfire – don’t ask me why, I genuinely don’t know.

Maybe because the story is not exactly completed yet. There are stil so much yet to be answered. But since you did the one shot for GC around nathan incident i thought it would be ineteresting to know how he process his thoughts and feeling when he witness eva’s nightmare for the first time coincidentally the day he met Nathan. I dunno.. Just a thought.. Since you’re so good with describing feelings and emotions.

Yeah, I can see that, it would be a great read if it’s done well. GC is so intense though, after writing that story I felt like killing Nathan myself! It’s amazing how, as a writer, you get caught up in your character’s emotions.

I totally undertand. Its exhausting and sometimes can be days before you can shake off the emotion. But hey… Thats what makes your story so heartfelt 🙂 … Err thanks again for all those time you went to Cg’s head for us though.. And yourt shot at GC.

Ps: finished the education of sebastion AND caroline in two days .. Nd thought i share what i think of it. Its 5 am here n as much as my eyes n body would crash … I cant get it out of mind just yet.

Its a beautiful love story!! I wasnt sure i would like it.. But i loving it (makes me hungry for maccas now…lol)

Must admit, I have been completely taken over by, The Education of Sebastian and, newly released, The Education of Caroline. And the two, Sebastian’s POV chapters posted on, Aesta’s Book Blog.
I still like my FSoG although, I think I like your, more mature Ana, your, v2 .0 Ana to the original.
Hope you will try, Jane Harvey Berricks, Sebastian and, Caro.

This week, I read Down to You and Up to Me by M. Leighton. Holy God…HOT! And some twists I wasn’t expecting. I didn’t want to put them down and was extremely irritated that I had to go to work instead of just read. They definitely go on my re-read list. Started reading On Dublin Street by Samantha Young which I also really like so far…heard it was excellent!

I don’t how I fit my job, 3 kids and husband into the last 7 days because I read five books too 🙂 I read Naked & All In by Raine MIller and really enjoyed them. And I read the Up In The Air series by R.K. Lilley which is a Dom/Sub relationship between James & Bianca, good story 🙂 This week there are two new releases I will be reading Avoiding Intimacy by K.A.Linde and Never Too Far by Abbi Glines – I can’t wait for this, if you haven’t read Fallen Too Far yet then you need to read it! I’ve also got Wreck Me by J.L. Mac and Reapers Property by Joanne Wylde. Have a great week everyone 🙂

  11. This past week I’ve read the Up In The Air trilogy, all three books. I rather liked those, they’ll definitely get a re-read at some point. Then I re-read the Crossfire series, missed Gideon a little bit. Now I’ve start reading The Billionaires Beck and Call series; I’ve read the first 5 books and I don’t really like them all that much.
I don’t really know what to read next to be honest.
I want to read the Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens, but since the third book is coming out on March 5th, I think I’ll wait, so I can read all three together.

I shall have to keep an eye open for the books you have read and suggested. I have re-read the Crossfire books a couple of times and awaiting book 3. It seems that it is not due out now until June, so a bit longer to wait. I have read all the 80 Days books, the trilogy was already published so I only had to wait for the last two books. When you read 80 Days Yellow/Red/Blue you realise that Christian Grey was a really nice Dom and quite the gentle giant (well sort of).
I really like Sylvia Day as an author and I started reading her Renegrade books, (Touch of Crimson/A Hunger So WIld) they are more angels and werewolves. Not normally my type of read, but I did enjoy them, there is another book in the series out next month so I am looking forward to that one as well.
I also read one offs by Syvlia Day The Stranger I Married and Seven Years of Sin, another two books that were good reads.
I think I fit in the RIO category, when I was reading FSOG, I stayed up till 01:30 hrs in the morning reading the book because I could not put it down.
Sorry I waffled on longer then I should, I will make a note of books that you recommended.
