Book club

Hello there Grey fans!

Welcome to our book club segment on this lovely, auspicious Easter Sunday.

Boy do I have a book hangover this week. Back-to-back of Up In The Air series has left me all James and Bianca-ed out!

So this week I finished:

mile high  grounded

Mile High and Grounded (book 2 and 3 of the Up In The Air Series) by R K Lilley. I enjoyed the series, I’m glad that I stuck it out for book three, which in my opinion, was the best of the three but there were times I felt I was pushing through the book rather than enjoying the ride. I’ve given it three stars on Goodreads.

Currently I’m reading:

b dam

Beautifully Damaged by L A Fiore and so far so good. It reminds me of Rock Me and Beautiful Disaster but I’ve only just started.

On my shelf (Yay!) I have:

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire (well almost have it on my shelf – I’ve pre ordered from Amazon and should have it by the 2nd of April). I’m looking forward to this one. It’s prequel was the first book I read once I managed to drag myself away from my FSOG addiction and though it’s a WHOLE lot tamer than FSOG I enjoyed it, and as is the current trend, this tells the same story as the first book but written from the male character’s (Travis’) point of view.

Does anyone know if EL James was the one who started this trend? Writing from another character’s point of view?  This wasn’t my genre before I read FSOG so I don’t know.

Happy reading ladies and have a great week!

Trailers and more

I don’t know about you but I looove the fan made trailers. Here are some new ones, bearing in mind when I say “new” it’s basically all the snippets we’ve seen so far with a few tweaks. Still, it’s nice to imagine what the movie will eventually look like.

New Matt Bomer

Matt and Alexis – black and white

New long trailer from Proxybluex

Check out Sylvia Day’s latest snippet from Entwined With You – nice but oh so short!

Here is the link to all her snippets and snapshots so far:

Mid week teaser

If it’s Wednesday it must be teaser day…. have a sneak peek at chapter 42

“…Taylor copped the change in Christian’s eyes. It was dramatic and horribly reminiscent. It was the one he saw on the day she left. Like something was torn from them, then replaced with a poor copy of the original. Even though he was a man and supposedly immune to such things he’d give anything not to see that look again. That day his own soul had bled for Christian, the man was in so many pieces. He might not share his employer’s particular tastes in the bedroom but he’d have no qualms about tying Anastasia to a bedpost or something if she ever so much as thought about bailing again. Damn, he thought dismayed, this was a bigger crap fest than he first assumed, and then berated himself firmly. Making assumptions was exactly how you got into a fuck-up like this…”

This and that

Hello lovely Grey fans!

Firstly I’d like to thank all of you that have offered to Beta read for me. I’m speechless and very grateful. Thank you!

I also  have another Christian candidate to share…

zac  zac1

Zac Efron

I finally found a candidate for Ana that I personally quite like:

Nikki Reed

I’ve mentioned it before but the first book I managed to read after FSOG was Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire and though it was much tamer than FSOG I enjoyed it. Check out this video made for the book:

Book 2 Walking Disaster will be out 2 April.

Thank you so much for your patience regarding the late chapter as well as the lack of editing. Do I have any Beta readers on the blog? I sooooo need someone to go over the chapters (in their own time) to help me root out the grammar and spelling errors.

It will have to be a love job unfortunately 😉

On to the reading week – I’ve had an interesting one…

I finished:

tvp  in flight

Their Virgin Princess by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake was typical of this series and delivered exactly what the previous four did – romance, angst and of course heaps of dominant males. You don’t have to read them in order but the characters of the books pop up in all of them with the focus shifting to a new trio every time.

I was warned about the similarities but what do you get of you mix FSOG, Crossfire and This Man? You get In Flight by RK Lilley – book 1 in the Up In The Air series. I’m in two minds about this series. Firstly I like that all three are out so – of course – I’m almost through book two already. I like the story but again, I’m personally not drawn to the male lead like I am with Fifty, Gideon and Jesse. Also the BDSM is quite hard (though, admittedly it could be allot worse) and I found it a little jarring at times.  For me the love scenes were just a tad OTT, I almost felt like an onlooker rather than being part of the scene. If a book is going to be that similar to the three I mentioned before, and considering that all three of those have my five star rating, it has a lot to live up to and I think that’s why I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have if I didn’t continually compare it to my top three, all time fav’s. Having said that, it is a good read, and certainly right up our kinky alley with all the controlling, jealous male you can handle.

Currently I’m reading:

mile high

Mile High by RK Lilley (Book 2 in the Up In The Air series) – Despite my commentary above I do like it enough to complete the series

On my shelf I have:

grounded  b dam

Grounded by RK Lilley (Book 3 in the Up In The Air series) and Beautifully Damaged by LA Fiore

I’m going to have a serious book hangover from the Up In The Air series so I thought I’d better stick to a single read after that… 😉

Happy reading ladies…
