This last week was a really good reading week for me with some pleasant surprises….

This week I read:

might st  bb

The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle was awesome! It delivered on all counts, drama, passion and the obligatory hot-boy rocker with issues. I loved it. For me, it out rocked Rock the Heart by a long shot.

Beautiful Bastard by Christian Lauren was a lovely surprise. Touted to be one of the “similar to FSOG” books, I worried that it was going to be the same story with a different wrapper, but it was not. It was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed! My only criticism, and it’s a strange one, would be that it was slightly too heavy on the love scenes.

Currently I’m reading:

col

Collide by Gail McHugh seems good so far. I’ve only just started so we shall see.

On my shelf I have:

lond

The Long awaited sequel to On Dublin Street, Down London Road by Samantha Young, freshly released this past week.

Happy reading ladies and don’t forget to share!

This week I read Recipe for Satisfaction by Gina Gordon…liked it. Rock With My by Kristen Proby…OMG. LOVED it, but then I’m a huge fan of her books! Then moved on to Wait for You by J. Lynn which I liked very much but since I’m not a very young woman, I’m growing tired of college romance books. Monique, we must have the same tastes because next I’m reading Beautiful Bastard and The Mighty Storm!!!! And I’m going to have to reread Bared to You and Reflected In You before Entwined With You is out on June 4th! There just aren’t enough hours in the day 🙂

Hi Valerie, that’s book 4 right? Is it a follow on series or can you read them out of order? I really enjoyed Mighty Storm, but again young people – maybe we should just live our lives through them… LOL! The thing I found most interesting that I read Rock the Heart last week and Mighty this week and they are sooooo similar, yet worlds apart. I would love to get some feedback from someone who has read them both to test my theory, but to me it illustrates the difference between good and great perfectly. I know what you mean, I wish I could somehow inhale all the books I’d like to read! Thank you for sharing. Let me know what you think about BB, too much sex, I would have liked to have seen more of their interaction but still a fab read.

Rock With Me is book 4. You could probably read them out of order but I think you would love them more if you understand the dynamics of this family starting from book 1 (Come Away With Me). Samantha (RWM) is the sister of Luke (CAWM); Leo (RWM) is the foster brother of Megan (Play With Me, book 3) Leo is hot, hot, hot. I’m glad I read them in order; I love the relationships in them. Fight With Me (2) and Rock With Me (4) are my favorites so far.
I Read Rock the Heart quite a while ago; might need to refresh. I’ll read Mighty, then we’ll compare notes!

Like you i read The Mighty Storm ( the mighty…keep making me thinking of Mighty Mouse tune… Lmao!! Hereeere i come to save the daaaay…) n Rock the heart /band/bed.

oMG!!! Totally agree withnwhat you trying to say. They’re sooooo similar but different. Both had the ‘jump in the bus tour only for the job’ thing and past love, the best friend with the band mate…

To me.. Rock with heart is good, mighty storm probably better even though i have no idea why. Is that how you feel? Have you read Katie Ashley’s Music with the heart? Its also along those two.

Hohoho…. I never thought there’s a thing as ‘too much sex’ for you, Monique 🙂

Better writing for one, but mostly I think she likes to spin a tale, weaving that drama that really stirs your emotions. I felt for the characters, their pain and their joy where I didn’t have that same connection with Rock. No. I’ve not read Music of the Heart, and I’m a little hesitant after the Proposition and The Proposal. LOL! for the too much sex. Yes, I know it’s strange but there was a real story there between the two characters and refreshing take on the I-want-to-but-shouldn’t dynamic. She writes well, and I would have loved to see more interaction between them that didn’t occur up against a wall 😉

Better writing huh? Hehe interesting… 🙂 wanna know my personal opinion?… Hehe mighty storm is written by british. Rock the heart, american. Lol! Something about british writer that I personally like better. They are wittier. EL james is one of them. Their sense of humour alo slightly different. 🙂

Yeah Mighty storm keep me on the edge with everything thats going on.

This week im off my reading target. I meant to read Beautiful Bastard but other books just distracted me.

I read quite a few this week.
The Forgotten Ones By Howard Laura – i won this ebooks on a group give away. Its paranormal series, not something i would normally pick up but it was a good read. Its part of Trilogy and my problem with most trilogy is tht the first book os never enough for me to say whether the book is great or not. Its left me hanging. Well.. This one probably sit on 3 stars with me. But them again im not a fan of Paranormal so dont judge the book by me.

Suicide Note by Teresa Mummert – i know this is a favorite of many. But it doesnt really sit well with me. Between the confusing Flashbacks and the whole story.. I just lacking connection with any of the characters. So the story did nothing to me. With two books left me just ok.. I was in book funk.

Battlescars by Sophie Monroe. Finally its a nice read that icould truly enjoy. Inlike Aubrey for being a strong heroine and Jake is a caring guy. Its a good read but too much rockstars romances and Jake that it take me a moment remind myself which Jake is belong to which book especially i started to see patterns in the story line. And the next thing is their best friend hook up with their band mate. Hummmm… Next!

The Proposition AND the Proposal by Katie Ashley. I love her works in Music of the heart. The Proposition started off ok but then going on The Proposal.. The whole thing started to get a bit too draggy for me and some irritated me. I skipped The Party. Dont think i would miss much if i dont read it.

    Last but not least…

Every Rose by Lynetta Halat. I came across her book actually by pure chance. We’re on the same book group on FB when she made a comment about something and after i drilled her, she finally told me that she’s an indie author and told me her book name. It has a glowing reviews so i got them. And whatna surprised. It made it my book of the week. I actually cried reading it and i dont cry over books. I admit it wont be something i choose to read if only i knew about the story but … Ddnt regret it. Its a very beautiful story, honest and raw emotionally. Inlove her philosophy and illustrations she used in her story. Its not a steamy read but its one of those book that leaves you with a strong message, at least it did for me. I loved it!

On my hand, im reading Fight with Me (with me in Seatle). I didnt like Come with me so wasnt planning on reading the rest but heard so much about Nate, i just have to find out. Lol! Cant resist a hot alpha!

This week also im so eagerly waiting fornthe release of Jane Harvey-Berrick’s new book called Dangerous to know & love. I really cant wait!!

Thank you so much Audrey for the lovely M-day inspiration! Wow, you had quite the week then. Don’t you just hate it when book after book leaves you meh? I’m so with you on the Proposal, it sort of seemed flat. Good but not great. Hot Alpha is the bomb! Let us know how it pans out. Thank you for sharing! 😉

Ok… Gotta admit Come with Me leaves me meh. Feels like its nice read for the beach where everything too smooth sailing. Nothing much going.

Fight with me had more treat for me since Nate to me sounds like all the book bfs combined into one. Think CG/Gideon/Travis/Rule in one person. Got the money, the look, the possesiveness, the tatts, the piercing… Hmmmm… I got your attention huh?

Oh.. Btw this is so something i read when i just came out a while ago but recently people seem to compare the two so you might just like it. If you like REAL.. Have you read RULE by J Crownover?

        • Monique Lain says:

Ok, so even though it’s a series they don’t follow onto each other? I’ve taken Come Away With ME off my list and added Fight With Me. Rule seems interesting, I’ve put it on, though once again, if it’s being compared to Real she’s got BIG shoes to fill! This week book 3 of Blackstone Affair comes out, I might skip my shelf reads for that one… 😉

If you gotta choose between Fight with me and Rule for a place on your shelf this week, i would say pick Rule.

Fight with me is nice and Nate is what makes the book interesting. Rule.. Hmmm theres a story there. Thoigh personally Rule is not my type. Lol.

And no,,, i dont compare him with Remy. I think they’re in different league. Lol! If you like Remy’s MMA stuff.. Try Fighting for flight…. JOnah is HOT!! 🙂

    Good morning Monique,
I had a great reading week this week.
I started of with Rock Me by Cherrie Lynn, I finished it but I thought it was a bit boring to be truthful really didn’t float my boat but I continued to read Leave me Breathless also by Cherrie Lynn and I loved this, I couldn’t put it down. Really enjoyed reading about Ghost and Macy and could be persuaded to put Ghost on my list!
I also read Down to you and Up to me, now these I loved and Cash is definitely on the list. Couldn’t get enough of him and Olivia and looking forward to the release of the 3rd book.
At the minute I am nearly finished This Man again, only because I recommended it to a friend and she has been raving about Jesse so I decided to have another look to see if I was missing something and I can say Nope he is still a complete maniac and I think he is a bigger lunatic that I first thought!
For this week I have downloaded The Siren, The Angel and The Prince by Tiffany Reisz, I have heard good things about this author so looking forward to starting them.
Have a great week and Happy Mothers Day x

WHAT?? That’s so funny Katherine! *wink, wink* Katherine and Ghost sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G… LOL! Glad you enjoyed it, pity about Rock Me. I felt that way about her 3rd book in the series, Unleash Me I think it was called. Cash and Olivia is great. I thoroughly enjoyed them. I’m super stoked that you’ll be reading Tiffany next. I’m sooo curious to see how you’ll feel about that. The series is definitely on my top reads list.

Hi, I finished Fifty Shades of Schwarz by Ed Harris. Thank you, Monique for providing us with a sample, it really whetted my appetite for more. It’s the funniest book I’ve read for ages, classic New York Jewish humour! Single girl Maya is by no means a blushing virgin, she’s dating three guys, a slacker, a Dom and a Rabbi but which one will she commit too? I’m not sure why its called a parody because it really stands on its own as a hilarious social comedy. It would make a fabulous TV series or movie.

I’m also about to start The Prince, volume three in the Original sinners sequence. The Mistress is out this summer. Tiffany Resiz is one of my favourite authors.

Not every male author writes so sympathetically from a female point of view. He also makes the other female characters seem very three dimensional. I have an older sister whose religious and somewhat prudish. I’m debating whether to recommend Schwarz. I know she’d love some of the humour but on balance I think it’s a bit too strong for her.

I just want to yet again say THANK YOU for this site…I love ending my awful week with another chapter of your amazing story. I also love your “between the cover” blogs. I spent all weekend going through the blogs and looking up every book mentioned and reading the first few chapters of many of them…I now have over 40 books to read!! And I’ve found a few new hotties (emerson & ward to name a few) in the process. Thanks again 🙂

For me it’s Christian, Gideon, Jesse and Remy – in no particular order… 😉 I enjoyed the Gabriel books but the prof did nothing for me. Nice cache of books you’ve got there, let me know if you have difficulty deciding on where to start… 😉

My week started with me finishing Love Unrehearsed by Tina Reber, really enjoyed this series 🙂

THEN Down London Road by Samantha Young, I really enjoyed this book too, the bonus about this book it you get lots of glimpses of Braden & Joss and the rest of the On Dublin Street book characters. I loved all the angst and sexual tension between Jo & Cam and the overall story was good 🙂

Also read A Beautiful Lie by T.E.Sivec which centres around three friends, two guys and a girl. A lot going on in this book, hot Navy Seals, CIA, romance, love, murder it was all happening and was a nice change to read.

THEN it all got butterflies, candles, hearts and flowers when I read Wanted by Kelly Elliott OMG, if you love romance novels then you will love this, the characters are end of high school/college age as a lot of books are at the moment but they are popular so why not? Gunner *swoon* is the sweetest book guy, okay no one with ever top Kellan Kyle for me me but Gunner does a fine job, lots of over the top sweetness.in this book but was nice to read something like this.

I am currently reading Saved by Kelly Elliott, book 2 in this ‘Wanted’ series.

I also read 50 more pages of Barely Breathing by Rebecca Donovan, I’m tip-toeing through this book because the first one took a lot oout of me and I am taking my time with it 🙂

THIS WEEK IS MR ETHAN BLACKSTONE WEEK :))) Eyes Wide Open will be released and I will definitely be all over that book 🙂

Have a great week everyone and I hope you all had a reading filled mothers day

So as well as reading my e-books this week I have gone in for another round of 50 shades on my audiobooks, I read all three paperbacks 7 times and listened to the audio version 4 times but just feel like listening to a bit 50 this week – how sad is that!
