Between the covers book club

Hello lovely ladies!

I hope your Sunday is filled with free moments to stick your nose in your favourite book!

First, let me share with you a little joke….

I’ve enjoyed your comments about the latest chapter, Thank you for that – and of course the cat is out of the bag. Yes, Sasha Cameron is a real parson, she will be guest writing the GQ article as a treat. She also has a Fifty Shades blog here on WordPress and is a fellow Aussie mate. Her slant on Fifty Shades is to continue with Kate and Elliot’s story. You can check out her blog on:

This week I started:

bs1

Beautiful Stranger by Christiana Lauren. I’m liking it even more than Beautiful Bastard, the first one in the series, though they don’t follow on to each other.

On my shelf I have:

Tangled

Tangled by Emma Chase. I’m very much looking forward to this, apparently it’s very funny and I need one of those! 😉

Now I know we all love our Fifty Shades but is this a step too far?

Happy reading ladies!

I thought that I was FSOG biggest fan but obviously not. I think that the tattoo is a bit too much, I’d be thrown out of the house if I came home with that lol.
Last week I read The Stranger, Exposed and Binding Agreement all by Kyra Davis, I loved them. I loved her style of writing and it was so descriptive which I need in order to loose myself in a book.
My only negative was that they were too short and could have been one book.
I am planning on reading beautiful disaster this week and if anyone has read the Sweet series by Maya Banks I would love to know what you think of them. I have read one but want to know if you think it’s worth my time reading the rest

Then you must read “Rush” and “Fever” by Maya Banks. It’s part of a trilogy, but each book has it’s own story. Read them in order…they are related. “Burn” comes out in August. I really liked them.

My children are grown now, but, oh, how I remember those days when there was absolutely no time for “me time”. My daughter was in dance too, for 15 years, among other sports. My son was very active too. I loved attending their activities at the time. Now they are on their own and I have plenty of read time…and I love it! Enjoy every minute of them when they are little…it goes sooooo fast!

Liezel, may I also suggest you join Goodreads? It’s free, and you can friend people, much like facebook, and then see what they’ve read, how they’ve rated it and what’s on their list to read…

Finally I could get hold of Beautiful disaster! I liked it very much. I still cannot get over the fact that I am reading totally different books now.
I am a thrillerfan and now it is a mix of romantic and my ‘old’ books. Very funny! 😉 But I like it this way! Katherine, you were reading thrillers before all this didn’t you? Do you mix them with the romantic ones?
Monique, hurry with chapter 51! Xxxx Janien

Hi Janien yeah thrillers were the only books I read even after reading FSOG I went back to them. I started reading “erotica” for real only after Monique corrupted me 😉
I did read a Patricia Cornwell book a few weeks ago but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it as much as I used to and I have noticed that it takes me longer to read thrillers now always looking for hot s&x lol

Hi Katherine! I do understand what you mean! I try to read thrillers and some of them are really good. ( i do like Nicci French, and a lot of writers from Sweden, Camilla Lackberg is a good one) but somehow I always get back to FSOG, i have been reading those books so often…..
I don’t always like the “erotica” I read. A lot of it is ” stolen” from EL and that gets me angry and bored. There is a Dutch thrillerwriter who has written an erotic story (under a different name) I did like that one. But it is only in Dutch so…. Enjoy Beautiful disaster! Xx Janien

I liked Beautiful Stranger better than BB too. More of a connection/story. I even bought the audiobook to hear Max’s accent – swoon!! I LOVED Tangled. Took me a few chaps to get into it but once I did – I, like Liezel, laughed out loud a lot. Can’t wait to hear what you think. I’ve started OnDublin Street this week.

My book this week was Tangled. I have never laughed so hard when reading a romance, and it was a good one. Told from the man’s POV, it was hilarious!! Monique, you will LOVE it!

You will absolutely love Tangled! This week I read Unbreak Me by Lexi Ryan. Good read. It had a good story line and I liked the characters. I have never read any of her other books, but I enjoyed this one. I also read Entwined with You. I liked Entwined with You, was not wowed by it and was disappointed at the end of it. Looking for the next good read until This Man Confessed comes out.

ok…putting Tangled on my list now. I love hearing everyone’s comments here. I’ve enjoyed all of the books I’ve gotten from this blog. I read Down London Road this week and really enjoyed it. I wonder if there will be a story about the younger sister in the future since she is so into reading romance novels…I hope so. Entwined is still staring at me from my bookshelf, but I just stare back! Making us wait like that and then leaving us hanging just pisses me off…lol. Of course I’ll buy books 4 and 5 though…love Eva and Gideon. 😉 If anyone has read Undeniable and UnBeautifully by Madeline Sheehan, I’d love to hear your opinions. I really liked them both, they were such different reads for me. The cover describes them as intense, raw, and gritty…and they weren’t lying!
Btw Monique, my brother just informed me that he is taking a trip to Australia. I thought, hmmmm…I know an Aussie…tell her hi from me 😉

I have read those two books and got completely sucked into them. Madeline Sheehan is a fantastic story teller, her books are so dark & gritty but passionate and intense, I love them 🙂

LOL! We are such suckers Tracy! Love/hate thing going on with these books! Take the plunge, Entwined is good! Ah that’s awesome! Yeah, Aussie is BIG! Most folks don’t realise just how big. We stay North right, for me it is closer to fly to Bali, Indonesia than any other major capital in Oz by 2 hours!

    Heya
I did a bit of re-reading this week so I read Real, Tangled and Seduction & Snacks again because a big pile of paperbacks arrived from Book Depository.

I too read Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines and enjoyed it, Rush wrote Blaire a song and the clever Abbi Glines actually wrote the song, got it recorded and you can buy it on Itunes, which I did of course 🙂

And speaking of Abbi, I read Breathe which is part of the seabreeze series, which I have read completely out of sequence but it makes no difference really.

I also read Epilogue – Dark Duet by C.J. Roberts and really loved this, wasn’t sure what was going to happen and was pleasantly surprised with Caleb & LIvvie’s path in this book and satisfied with where the author took us.

In the weekend I read Recovery by L.B. Simmons which is book 2 in the mending hearts series. The first book Running on Empty introduced us to Alex a widowed mum of three young girls and the man she falls for, Blake. Book two is about what happens afterwards, can you lvie happily ever after. Nice to read a book where there are kids and the couple are mid 30’s. Nice story.

I also read Just Remember To Breathe by Charles Sheehan-Miles, it was on my TBR list and has been free on Amazon so I grabbed it. Another young adult story but a good one all the same.

And lastly, today I finished Futures & Frostings by Tara Sivec – this was my favourite read of the week 🙂 I loved Seduction & Snacks and I laughed so much I snorted when I read book two. The little boy in this story is absolutely hilarious and it is a really funny read.

This week I am re-reading The Perfect Game by JR Sterling in preparation for The Game Changer release later this week. I’m also going to read Troubles & Treats by Tara Sivec which is book 3 in her hilarious series. AND I will be reading Tie Me by Olivia Cunning which is from her Sole Regret series. If you are looking for a very sexy but really dirty read then anything by Olivia Cunning will fit the bill.

Have a great week everyone and it’s only 16 more sleeps until we can slip between the sheets with Jesse Ward :)))))

Ahhhh…Jessie, can’t wait! I hope those books come out in paperback some day. I still enjoy holding a book in my hand. I even go out and buy paperbacks when I’ve already read them on kindle just because I like them. I’m becoming a book hoarder! Olivia Cunning sounds interesting, I put her on my list…thank you 😉

I’ve reread the man books again in preparation of the next book. I was surprised how much I loved that series considering if he was a real person I knew his tendencies would be a huge red flag! I suppose that’s the beauty of fiction! I’ll been trying to find short filler reads to fill the void. Samantha young who wrote on Dublin street has a freebie short read that has an interesting spin … Thanks for lead me to it Monique! Love a good free read :). Tangled will needed to be added to my list! I actually enjoy the male pov! Loved the last chapter of might storm w jakes pov! Left me wanting more!
