Book club and teaser

Hello ladies,

I’m back!

I’m so sorry I missed the Sunday book club posting, I had some internet issues that was only resolved yesterday, and posting from the app on my phone is not as practical as one would like it to be, so I thought I may as well do the two together! I hope you’ve been well and looking forward to a new instalment of Meander!

book club

This week I read:

This Man Confessed by Jodie Ellen Malpas delivered another slice of Jesse heaven with book three in the This Man series with an intense instalment of the dashing Mr Ward and all his crazy! If you’ve not read this series do so as soon as you can!

This whole series has my best of the best award!

On my shelf I have:

Friends With Benefits by CC Wood

book j4

Then, for those of you waiting with bated breath on the mid week teaser, here you go….

“…His angry bark cuts me off, “You’re fucking naked! And you look… You look so, so… Jeez!” He exclaims, clearly riled, rubbing his forehead with his thumb and forefinger.

Gaping I stare, annoyance bleeding into my joy like a stain, “What do I look like?” I ask incredulously, wondering whether he noticed that he’s shirtless in more than one of the pictures, his gorgeous, sculpted torso putting Michelangelo’s David to shame; and on full display for the world’s female populace to drool over.

Stepping back from me he fists his hips, a scowl darkening the angry planes of his stunning face, “You look fucking gorgeous!” he spits in disbelief, as if it were an accusation.

“It will be a cold day in hell before I let the world see you like that. Let them see what’s mine! And you’re pregnant for fuck’s sake!”…”

Thanks to Paola I have also posted chapters 36 and 37 in Italian.

I hope you have an awesome week ladies and I’ll see you over the weekend!

Monique x

I just finished the This Man series. I am smitten with Jesse. Thank you for recommending it. I haven’t had a book hangover like this since 50 Shades.

  5. Have you read the Legacy Collection by Ruth Cardello? I’m new to book club, so sorry if you have covered this. AND…I’m loving Meander…thanks for taking the story to new places…don’t know what i’d do without fan fiction! The thought of it being over depresses me…sigh

LOL! Hello Debi, you are in good company here! Yay for FF! I’m so glad you like Meander and no, I don’t know your recommendation…another to put on my ever growing list! Thank you for sharing!

I just finished that series, also. I loved Jesse and Ava they were just great. I am also waiting on pins and needles for the next two books in the Inside Out Series by Lisa Renee Jones. I have so many books on my nook and bookshelf every time I finish one it always looks like they multiplied.

  7. Marion Evans says:

Hi Monique, It’s great to have you back. Looking forward to Chapter ’52’ as always. I too got into ‘The Man’ Series also & finally downloaded ‘Confessed’ last night. Unfortunately, the next thing I knew it was 2am here in Oz and I wasn’t finished so I will have to finish it tonight. It certainly is captivating, but I still prefer your writing (Even though in my head Christian & Jesse are now fighting over me! he,he,he lol). Glad your back!! 😉

  9. Valerie says:

Nice teaser Monique! So glad you’re back and I hope you had a nice time off. Last week I finally read This Man…and I loved it! Now I’m reading Beneath This Man :):) Jesse really is crazy! Love this story. I can’t wait for you to post Chapter 52.

  10. Nancy says:

Welcome back!!!, what a nice surprise…and nice teaser! Hope you had a nice rest. I will look forward to my coffee time this weekend.

Yeah!!! She’s back!!! Of course I read This Man Confessed…loved it..I really liked how the author tied everything together at the end. On my bookshelf…Beautiful Stranger and Beautiful Bastard. I also have Bad Things by R.K. Lilley to read. It is Tristan and Danika’s story from the Up in the Air series. Did I read the teaser correct??? Do they have a nude pic of Ana? How did Christian ever let that picture get taken??? Can’t wait til Friday 😉

  12. Kathy says:

Welcome back Monique, hope you had a lovely and relaxing holiday. Also have just read this man confessed,OMG Jesse, loved, loved, loved this book , absolutely intense with an amazing ending, wrapping everything up nicely, especially loved the epilogue. Still on “central Jesse cloud nine”
In the last month or so I have read the up in the air trilogy, if you havnt read it put it on your list, also read tangled by Emma Case, this was a fun read enjoyed how it was from Drew’s POV. Looking forward to your next chapter!

  13. Jo Fergus says:

Thanks for the teaser, can’t wait to read it this weekend 🙂

I totally agree with everyone’s comments about This Man Confessed, wow I just loved it so much, and jeepers were there some confessions and then the best epilogue ever was awesome 🙂 And how awesome that it is number 1 on the NYT bestseller list!!!

I’ve read lots over the past two weeks and TMC was definitely the highlight. I have also just finished Pulse by Gail McHugh which is the sequel to Collide, fantastic series and really worth the read.

I also read Lick by Kylie Scott which is a great rock star read if you are into those.

My emotional read of the week was Falling Into Us by Jasinda Wilder and I wept like a big sook, I cried with her first book in this series too but this one was more so.

I’m now reading Beautiful Bitch which is Bennett & Chloe again, then I am inhaling Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover, Hopeless is one of my most favourite books ever and I cannot recommend it highly enough. My 17yr old daughter read Hopeless a month ago and it was her first novel in years, she loved it, she laughed, cried and told all her friends about it too. She is now reading Losing Hope because she could’t wait any longer and I want to keep her reading enthusiasm up.

I’m also going to delve into Arouse & Allure by NIna Lane finally and really looking forward to those 🙂 That should keep me busy all weekend, although it will have to be tamed because my hubby is taking me away for the weekend and I think he has plans to keep me busy in other ways 😉

Welcome back Monique we missed you!

    • Monique Lain says:

Hi Jo! Yay for romantic weekend! Whoo-hoo! Yes This Man was such a highlight! Yummy! As always a very prolific share, thank you very much! I hope I can instil in my daughter a love for reading. It’s such an awesome pastime.

  14. Mrs. G says:

Welcome back, Monique! Missed you and only got through this holiday with the help of one Jesse Ward!!! This Man Confessed did not disappoint! After a few days of living on Central Jesse Cloud Nine I read something milder in Dina Silver’s One Pink Line. Very cute, loving story…I enjoyed it! Waiting patiently for your next chapter. The teaser did its job!!!

  15. Sheila H says:

So nice that you are back Monique, we have missed you. Loved the teaser, I really have missed my mid week teaser as well.
I re-read Entwined with You, and it still left me wanting more. When I bought the first Crossfire book I noticed that Sylvia Day also wrote historical novels. There are about eight historical novels listed and I have now read five of them so far. Sylvia writes a good story but you have to like historical novels, which I do.

    • Monique Lain says:

Hello Sheila, thank you and it’s good to be back. I needed a little bit of distance! Yeah, I’ve read all her historical novels and they are good, but I still feel that she kicked it up a notch with her writing style and plot with the Crossfire series. Did you know that Crossfire is based on Seven Years To Sin?

  16. M.A.C. says:

Back with Sass !! You never disappoint… I was laughing so hard at Christian’s reaction just in this tidbit… OMG I think I’ll just skip work and sit here by my laptop waiting ~ Can’t believe how much I missed you in my “fictionally real” life all the way in Canada. Welcome back!!

  17. DianeG says:

Haaaayyyyy! So, so happy to see you are baaack. Hope you had a wonderful, peaceful, rest-filled vacay. But in all honesty I am really looking forward to ’52.’ We are quite a demanding lot, aren’t we?

I’ve got my ticket and I’m ready to ride.

  18. Winterstorm says:

Just finished the last book of the man series and loved it to pieces! Wrapped up so nicely, I so wish Sylvia day had done the same with her last release. Btwn your teaser was brillant as well as the chapter – cant wait to see what psychos that GQ article bring out! Lol! I’ve gotten quite the laudry list of books to read from your book club it enabling my illness and dependence 🙂 think I might start hopeless now that losing hope is released!
