Between the covers book club and teaser

Hello lovely ladies.

I hope this Sunday finds you well and happily reading a fabulous book!

Let me start off with more FSOG movie news. According to the Laters Baby website, Luke Grimes is to play Elliot Grey.

Personally I’m not too sure about this choice, but let’s hope Hollywood knows what they’re doing…

This week I read:

Come Away With Me by Kristen Proby. This is another one of those authors that I’ve been eyeing for a long time, but never had a chance to read. Well, I can say that I’m glad that I finally got around to it. A good read, the fist in the With Me In Seattle series.

I should, if all goes well, have chapter 60 (CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT NUMBER??) ready for you by next weekend, including the last teaser that never made it into the chapter!

A further teasing taste for you…

“…I don’t bother knocking, but take a steeling breath as I open the door, and it serves me well because I stop breathing all together when I clock my husband’s agitation. His hands are in his hair, both angry fists gripping tufts of hair. “That can only mean one thing,” he says bleakly, looking at Taylor who is quick to nod his grim assent…”

I wish you a beautiful week ladies, with lots of good reads!

We have a new Christian!

Hello ladies!

Just a quick note to let you know that we have a new Christian Grey!

Jamie Dornan

According to the Inside Movies website:

“Dornan began his career in front of the camera modeling for campaigns like Dior, Armani, and, quite memorably, Calvin Klein underwear. It seems fitting that the man who will play the 28-year-old CEO of Grey Enterprises Holdings, Inc. was once dubbed “the Golden Torso” by The New York Times. He made his film debut in Sofia Coppola’s 2006 movie Marie Antoinette, and has since gone on to guest star as Sheriff Graham in the ABC series Once Upon a Time and play a serial killer in the BBC miniseries The Fall. The six-foot former rugby player married actress Amelia Warner in 2013 and the couple is reportedly expecting their first child together.”

Here he is featured in a Dior ad:

So, what do you think ?

I’ve also posted chapter 55 in Italian. Thank you Paola!

Between the covers book club and chapter 59

Hello sexy readers!

I trust that your weekend is filled with all the R&R you need to revive you after your week.

Chapter 59:

Please find chapter 59 in the sidebar, again unedited, but written in the broad light of day, so it shouldn’t be too bad 😉 Just as a side note, as I write mostly from the top of my head, this chapter took on something other than what I was originally hoping to get done, so I DID NOT MANAGE TO WORK IN THE TEASER. It’s an organic process, so I hope you will forgive me. Hopefully I will get around to including that with the following one.

On the movie front, Susan was kind enough to share this link with me, detailing the fall-out between Charlie and the FSOG movie clan.

It saddens me to no end that there are still people out there that misunderstands Fifty so completely.

I so wish the world could manage to look past the red room, and see the actual story!

This week I read:

The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski, book two in the Edge of Never series. This is a very tame series, erotica wise, but what it lacks in heat it makes up for in emotion.  The first one had me blinking away my tears, but this one had me bawling. It’s a great love story, powerful and touching.

I’ve also just posted chapter 5 of the Spanish translation of Meander. Thank you for that Kereny! 😉

Thank you Katherine for sharing this! The music of Fifty Shades of Grey!

You may need to click on the image to make it play.

Too funny 😉

I hope you have a stunning week and find lots of GREAT reads to share with us. I don’t know about you, but I’ve started the countdown to Katie Evans’s second book, Mine. I cannot wait for more of Remmy and Brooke!

Happy reading ladies!

Between the covers book club and teaser…

Hello ladies!

I trust that you’ve had a beautiful week and that you are looking forward to the work week. I fixed a lot of little things this week on the blog, all of which makes me feel more organised and ready to take on the final lap of Meander. Thank you for bearing with me.

By now, I’m sure you’ve seen the BIG news in our little FSOG world, but it seems that Charlie Hunnam, soon to be Christian Grey, has left the cast. I’m not sure why, but Erika wished him well and goodbye on Twitter and now, believe it or not, the wait is on again…

See more of this on the Laters, Baby site:

This week I read:

Beautiful Bombshell by Christine & Lauren. A cute novella that brings together the guys from the previous novels in the series.  I enjoyed this naughty read, it was fun, a little lighter than the rest f the series.

Then, for the Portuguese readers I just posted chapters 18 and 19, hot off the press via the Super Hot translators.

Thank you ladies!  🙂

And that brings us to our teaser, a little taste of chapter 59…

“…His mouth is set into an obstinate line. “He had to go.”

“But why? I don’t understand. He’s a child!” I counter, beginning to feel pig-headed myself.

He folds his arms over his chest, the defensive gesture only confirming my suspicions. “There’s no way I’m letting him be here. With you. On your own.” He adds, marking each sentence with a mulish jut of his chin…”

Translated chapters

Hello ladies!

I hope you are having a good week, finding some time to relax with a good read and a glass… or two… 😉

I love this little joke! I don’t know about you but I think it’s pretty fair!

Just q quick note to let the Italian readers know that Paola has translated the GQ article. I’ve posted it, nestled under chapter 51.

Kereny has also been very busy and I’ve just posted chapter 4 of the Spanish translation.

Also Sharon posted this as her means of survival between chapters. I think it’s an excellent idea…

Happy week!

Between the covers book club

Hello ladies!

I hope that you are having a beautiful weekend.

First the bad news… There will be no teaser today because I will not be updating Meander next weekend. I have an enormous amount of blog admin to do and it’s bugging me. This is the behind-the-scenes stuff that you don’t get to see but enjoy nonetheless. I know it may be hard for you to understand that I want to devote my time on something other than the main story, but as with clutter in real life, this type of thing clutters my mind, and I’m just not happy if it’s not done!

So, thank you for understanding. I will be updating the weekend of the 19th of October.

I Just had to share this. I found this today and thought it was the funniest thing ever 😉

For our Italian and Spanish followers, I’ve posted a new chapter in each language. Thank you Paola and Kereny for your hard work!

This week I read… Wait for it…

Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James… You may have heard of it… LOL! 😉

I had such a strong need to go back to the beginning, to find my inspiration, the motivation for Meander and all the incredible spin-offs that this book has produced. And you know what? Despite reading the series 8 times, back to back, when I first came across it, it’s still not old! Like a beloved fairytale, I think I could probably go back to this series for the rest of my life, and find it as beautiful and arresting as I did the first time. So much has been said about her writing, good and bad, but love it or hate it, you cannot deny that it’s become the iconic book of the century, something all others are measures against, and a entire brand in itself. Well done Erika!

Have a happy week ladies and don’t forget to share your great reads with us!
