Between the covers book club

Hello lovely ladies 😉

Just as a final nail in the rumour coffin, here is an article from Sky News confirming that Jamie is here to stay. I found it on EL James’s Facebook page.

I saw this during the week and absolutely loved its simple, flawless logic:

Word! 😉

So we know that OPI has an FSOG nail polish line, and I’ve seen some beautiful Fifty Shades nails, but this one shown on the Laters Baby UK Facebook page takes the cake.

This week I read:

Decker’s Wood by Kristy Dallas was, as predicted, a fluffy read; entertaining but empty.

First Night by Lauren Blakely, book 0.5 in the Seductive Nights series is a prequel novella that I’ve had on my shelf for ages. It was one of those “free” books from Amazon and I liked the blurb. However the book itself, to me, was a sore disappointment. I shall not be venturing into the rest.

Beautiful Player by Christina and Lauren, book three in the Beautiful Bastard series, more than made up for my lacklustre book week. This read rocked my… uhm… knickers! LOL! Awesome book and if you’re not yet acquainted with this fantastic duo of writers I suggest you meet them ASAP 😉

Beautiful Beloved, also by Christina and Lauren, book 3.6 of the Beautiful Bastard series, is an in-between novella. It filled in some sexy gaps between the mains reads and was just as yummy as the full book.

Currently I’m reading:

d

Dylan by Jo Raven, book four in the Inked Brotherhood series. I love this series; intense and spicy, and this one seems to be no exception.

These are the books we can expect in March from our beloved authors:

Again, I apologize for the quality. These are screenshots taken from my Goodreads list. Please note that the “more” links in the text aren’t live.  Personally I cannot wait for Tiffany Reisz, Kylie Scott, and Katy Evans’s latest releases! 😉

Thanks for adding some other book reviews for us to consider. Another blog suggested to read Cherise Sinclear “Master of Shadowland”. It is really worth the read?
    Thanks

I like Cherise Sinclair’s books. She isn’t a favorite for me, but I liked her enough to read her Shadowland series as well as a couple of other books she wrote. She has a big fan base, so you should try the first book and see if you enjoy. She was actually the first author I tried after FSOG introduced me into this genre. (Difficult for any Alpha to follow Christian!)

I don’t enjoy the supernatural genre, Crystal but I’ve heard good things of that specific series. I always find Goodreads a great source of info when I’m scouring for something new to read! 😉 And you’re welcome for the plugs. Hopefully you’ll find something wonderful to read 🙂

Shadowland isn’t supernatural, Monique. It is re: a very well run BDSM club in Tampa, Florida (I think). The owner of the club has some ability to sense others emotions, but that is as far as that sort of thing goes. Each book features a different member of the club, their background, different likes and dislikes of their various kinks, and how they develop a special relationship with a sub, even if they didn’t want one. One of the last books was about a sadist finding someone that needed what he had to offer, couldn’t imagine what that book would be like, but it was well researched and I did like it. I thought the series improved as it went, but as I said to Crystal, you should try the first book and see if you like. I think they are enjoyable reads, not on the scale of FSOG or The Sinners…but still interesting.

It’s a long weekend here in Western Australia, so I’ve got my Long Island Iced Tea, sitting under the aircon, reading This Man Confessed (again) and wishing I was in Spain with Jesse and Ava !

The last few weeks have been a wee bit slow. I got my Uni acceptance letter (yay !) then had dramas trying to enrol but have been ensure everything is ok and I should be good to go when I show up on Wednesday. I read One Night Unveiled by Jodi Ellen Malpas, because I hate leaving a series unfinished and I actually liked these books. Miller is an odd piece of work and I feel a wee bit disappointed with how it ended.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire was full of drama. Not quite sure how I felt about this one, but I wasn’t rushing to pick the next one up. Next was How We Deal With Gravity and This Is Falling and You And Everything After by Ginger Scott. TIF and YAEA were sweet and I liked those, but HWDWG was a wee bit disappointing.

Loved Beautiful Beloved by Christina Lauren and can’t wait for Niall’s story ! Love these two ladies and am very excited that there is a Beautiful Bastard screenplay in the works. I think, if done properly and given the time it needs instead of being rushed, it would be a really fun movie.

I also read the Nocte series by Courtney Cole. I’m pretty sure I either set or broke some record for number of ‘WTFs’ said consecutively out loud. I really enjoyed it but there are so many twists and turns I had to put my computer down and walk away before it got friendly with the wall. I got the first book, Nocte, a while ago and reading the reviews, decided to wait till the second one came out. I was good and waited till Verum came out, but should have waited until later this year when the last book, Lux, is released. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the books, but I’m impatient and hate cliffhangers but love all the twists and turns that make you think about it. Hence I’m waiting for the Never Never books by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher to be done with before I start those.

My favourites though were Sweet Thing and it’s novella Sweet Little Thing, Nowhere But Here and After The Rain by Renee Carlino. I found them sweet, with a wee bit of drama, but lovely HEAs. I think Sweet Thing was my favourite, can’t exactly say why as I have no idea, but it may have something to do with it being in NYC and my love of the city and it’s a sweet story and I’d like to be in Mia’s spot, but less music, more writing.. That may be it.

I’m thinking the Spiral of Bliss books will be next, again, and Relent by Nina Levine is waiting in the wings and a couple of others, but I’m going to hold off starting anything new until I’ve got myself settle with Uni. I was followed by Seth King on Instgram this week and after some Googling I now have The Summer Remains waiting and burning a hole until I get to read it. The book seems lovely based on reviews and the story behind it equally so.

Wow! Congratulations on Uni! I LOVED the This Man series, and like you I also don’t like to leave a series incomplete but I could not stand Miller and have not ventured to book two in the One Night Promised series. And yes, Christina and Lauren gets better with every book. I love them. Thanks for the great share, girlfriend! 😉

    Hola Monique 😁
I’ve had a great reading week I read the Innocence Series by Alessandra Torre and I really enjoyed the story line but there was nothing about Brad that I liked, Julia was feisty which I like but my one problem with the series was the sex it made me very uncomfortable so I found myself skipping over it im not sure why I’ve read worse but overall I’m glad I read them.
I also read Beneath the Sky again by Nina Lane just because I enjoyed it the first time and love her writing style.
For my last few days holiday I’m chilling with some old favourites so have just started This Man again.
    Have a great week x

Aww, you can never go wrong with This Man! Yeah, I know what you mean about Torre and the way she writes sex. Susan and I’ve discussed it to death. It has ALL the ingredients to make it sizzle yet it mostly comes across as mechanical. I don’t know why, can’t put my finger on it, but still, I live her twisty, bendy tales!

I’m not sure what motivated me, other than I enjoy her style, but I’ve started reading the Fantasyland series by Kristen Ashley. I didn’t know she did any fantasy/erotic, and I’m quite enjoying them. Her formula remains the same, but obviously I like what I’m getting as I’ve read rather a lot of her titles!
Totally looking forward to Tiffany Reisz on March 31st! I’m completely addicted to her writing! Quite a few interesting looking reads coming out, thanks for the heads up, Monique!
