This week I read:
Release Me By Ann Marie Walker and Amy K. Rogers, book two in the Chasing Fire series, was just as good as the first one. Hudson is a delicious book boyfriend, and if you’re looking for something strongly reminiscent of FSOG then this is the read for you – and a well written one too. My only complaint was the very abrupt ending. Here’s hoping that we see book three shortly!
Smart, Sexy and Secretive by Tammy Falkner, book two in the Reed brothers series, was more of a long novella rather than a full book, and in that sense, a bit of a disappointment. The author formatted the book with double spacing which gives you all the pages of a full length book but half the words. It made me feel cheated. Also, though I like nothing better than a HEA, this one was so sugary it felt a little empty.
Bait by M Mabie, book one in the Wake series, was not my kind of read. The story may have ended up being a good one had I managed to finish it, but the incredibly shoddy editing let it down to a point of me abandoning the book.

New kindle up and running so happy girl but loving the phone app so thanks for that.
Last week I finished Rose is Bloom by Helen Hardt this is the author who wrote Lily and the Duke loved both of these books.
I also read Remind Me and Release Me, enjoyed both these books but too much like FSOG but really liked all the characters.
I found myself skipping over the sex it was just like blah blah been done but the story was enjoyable.
Sorry you didn’t enjoy SS&S but I’m glad it wasn’t just me my problem with it was that she skipped over too much and it seemed too rushed
I’m like you in that I’ve no idea what to read next so any ideas would be gratefully received!

Aw! I’m glad you enjoy the app, Katherine. I love that it synchs my bookmarks, notes etc across ALL my devices and I LOVE that I ALWAYS have my book: in the check out line, waiting after school, at the dentist, wherever I am, there is my whole library on my phone with me! AWESOME!! Frankly I hardly ever use my iPad anymore, and with the size of the 6Plus I can’t imagine holding the bulk of the pad anymore. Yes, S,S &S was very light in the pants and the resolution came wayyyyy too easy. The story was so perfectly set up but book two failed it. She would have been better leaving it at book one. **spoiler alert** Though they were not together then the HEA was implied with her promising to come back to him. I will give The Reed Brothers one more go just to see if the first one was s complete fluke… Great hearing from you! 🙂

I absolutely hate the books that are published in stages – when I start to read a story, I would really like to finish it. Fair enough if the books are stand alone stories, one of a series, but it drives me mad when a book finishes in midstream. I have to say the editing in some of my favourite genre of books is truly appalling and it can drive me to distraction to pick up on very bad grammar and equally bad spelling. Poor research also drives me nuts! Oh, hell! I’m just a grumpy old woman!

I don’t mind the books coming along in series but I’m not crazy about waiting for a book of a series I’m into. The particular book I mentioned just sorta’ stopped. The first book ended in a cliffy but there was still a sense of completion to it, but this one felt simply cut off to me. Good book though…. As for my disaster book this week; I can overlook A LOT where editing is concerned if a story grabs me but sometimes, especially when a metaphor or simile is a physical impossibility, it irks me to distraction. Just cannot handle things like: “his voice came out fallow” Urgh!!! LOL!

Funny story for you. Ages ago I joined one of those freebie dating websites. Well, this week I got an email telling me that I had a messae from someone. Well, curiosity got the better of me and I sent a polite “Thank you”, asking to see a photo. Well, the pic was AWESOME! Now, I’m not a fool and there was no way a gorgeous guy, supposedly 44, was going to contact me, even though I’m considered to be an attractive older lady. I did a reverse image search and found the original pic on a tattoo site where he was shown in all his lovely glory. When I searched within the site, it was obviously aimed at the gay community. 😀 I sent him another email “Well, Google found the tattoo pic!! How about some photos of YOU!!” Sadly,that was the end of the correspondence!!

The final book in the Chasing Fire Series is due out 20 October 2015. I have downloaded the first two books and pre-ordered the third. Will try not to read this series until October as I dislike waiting for the next book.

Hi Monique! I’ve read some good ones. Elle Kennedy’s book is on my hit list too. I recommend anything by Tessa Bailey. Anything. I read Off Base, a book she co wrote with Sophie Jordan, and I just finished Up in Smoke… Loved it! It’s part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Same for Risking It All…amazing and HOT!!!! Have a wonderful day 😄

Hi all, Well we had a cool front come through yesterday here in Southern OK. It only got to the mid 90s. Ha Ha
I finished Tiffany Reize “The Angle” second in the Original sinner series. Loved Loved Loved it! I loved how Griffin help Michael get over the ugle scares with the wing tatoos. How Soren allowed Wesley and Nora to get back together is hard for me to understand if Soren loves her so much. Ms Reize is very talented and I love her written. Her use of the English leaves me at a lost sometimes so I keep my dictionary close.
I am reading Cherise Sinclaire new book, “Servicing The Taget”, that just came out this week. It is her lastest in the Masters of Shadowlands series. Its about Domme Anne known to be a sadist and how her hearts starts to loose some of it darkness. The sex is great just different seeing a very strong man become weak in the knees when told what to do. Highly recommend!
As soon as I finish Ms Sinclaire new book I am back to the land of The Original Sinner, “The Prince”.
I am in agreement with those who don’t like to wait for a new book to come out in a series. I look on Fanfiction for complete stories.

Tall, Tempting and Tatted was soooooo good, and like the rest of you, Book Two was a bit of a letdown…but I still enjoyed it. I loved that she wrote a song that Logan could hear and that her father could feel. But it was all a bit rushed and predictable. I’m probably not inclined to move on in the series….at least not anytime soon.
And I read Cherise Sinclair’s new release, “Servicing the Target”, I thought it was the best of the Shadowlands series. The lead character is a Domme that has serious man skills. I really was wishing for some video clips to go with some of the scenes….and I will never look at my exfoliating gloves quite the same way. As with most series, if you don’t read the other books, you won’t know the back stories on the supporting characters…but I think you would still enjoy as a stand-alone, as it is mostly about the Domme and her smitten retired Ranger Sniper stud. Thumbs up for this newest and bestest of the Shadowlands.
I’ve just found out I’m headed to Ireland (squeeee!) in November, so I’m trying out some Irish romances next….just to get a “feel for the locals”! 😉
I have decided October will be officially Tiffany Reisz month….I’m doing a re-read of the Original Sinners starting with Book One…and then concluding with her finale “The Queen” due out October 27th. Anyone want to join me? Crystal, glad you are loving so far….it is a truly exceptional series!

Katherine….TOO FUNNY – I read your note, and thought…OK, I need to look up craic to see what that means. I was thinking food. (My mind goes there often.) So the first chapter of the Irish Romance Monique suggested used that word, and the heroine asks what it means. And the Irish lady says she has never had to define it, but basically “fun times”. Had to laugh, I’ve never had a book answer a question so promptly!! Is that a good definition? And looking forward to a whole bunch of craic when I arrive. Florida is SO hot for SO long, and we love cold weather. I think I only had to wear a light sweater once or twice last year. So we often travel in November just to enjoy the cool.

Isn’t is funny how we all complain about the weather lol we were in Florida about 5years ago for a 3 week holiday, we went in July and I loved the heat I do enjoy the cold, winter is my favourite season my problem with the Irish weather is that the bloody thing seems to have only one season 😕

Whahaha! That’s cute! I LOVE the heat! When we were up north in Aus we only had two seasons, the wet and the dry, but the temp stayed constant in the early 30C. It was awesome! There, if you felt cold, you switched off the aircon! LOL! 🙂

I just came across a sweet Irish book: The Ex Lottery by Kim Sanders (Tank you, Susan for the rec) Not sure how hot it rates on the sexy scale but apparently very cute and of course features a hot Irishman! Wow! Full OS series? That will be a serious reading marathon, Sharon! I can’t wait for The Queen!

LOL, I forgot to mention that the Domme was also a bit of a sadist. But the big Studmuffin was rather pleased with the results, if not the process!! I’m reading your Irish book now, quite a cute storyline.
I didn’t care so much for the “Wild Irish Soul” by Tricia O’Malley. It started from the first chapter with them heading to the room and doing the wild thang. No buildup at all….and that always makes me feel uncomfortable. I need some anticipation to enjoy where they so quickly went to. It was a one click, and book three of a series but sold as a stand-alone. I suspect book two ends with the two of them meeting…but if so, Book three should have started with that same ending. The story itself was decent, but hard to get past such an uncomfortable beginning.

Hi Sharon. Just finished the newest book of Masters of Shadowland a few minutes ago. I did really enjoy it but can’t say it my favorite. My favorites are “To command and collar”, ( who could pass on a man w a hugh cock and a cock piercing) and “If Only”, (a three some with 2 FBI agents). I am also enjoying Ms Sinclare Masters of the Mountain series.
I will start “The Princes”, third in the sinner series, tonight. I have preordered “The Queen” so I will be reading along about the same pass you are.
Damn girl I have always wanted to go to Ireland. So have fun enought for both of us. Don’t know how hot of foods you eat but have heard their food is good but a bit bland.Since we eat lots of spicey foods I would have to take some hot pepper flakes with me. HA. Hell I like everything spicey!! Let me know what Irish book you are going to read.

I recently read the most amazing book. It is called, Fearless, by Lauren Gilley. First time read for me. This is an 861 page family saga. It keeps your interest from first to last page. The main characters are; Felix ( Mercy ) Lecuyer. . A Cajun biker. And Ava Teague, the daughter of the VP of the Lean Dogs MC . This isn’t your usual MC book. It covers 14 years. It has been classed as ; contemporary fiction, romance, mystery thriller. And action adventure. But it is really, a beautiful love story.
The authors writing is so descriptive. Well rounded characters. It is one of those, can’t put it down, kinds of books.

It does sound like a long book. But, despite that, the end seems to come too soon. The author originally published Fearless in 4 separate parts. Now it is put into one book, and is book 1 of The Dartmoor Series – all standalone books with characters from Fearless still making an appearance. Book 2 Price of Angels is out. And book 3. Skeleton King will be out on Sept/ 15.
As to the lovin? You’ll have nothing to complain about in that area lol.
Especially when French speaking Mercy is around. I hope you give Fearless a try, Monique. It is a beautifully written book 🙂

I read “Desertion” the third in my “River Savage” bad boy books. I really enjoyed the series. Now I am just fumbling around the samples hoping something will jump out!!
Did see that there is indeed a “Ms. Manwhore” yup its a novella for book number 3!! You might have to push me off the cliff to get me to buy that one but like another blogger above wrote… It is so maddening when they drag these stories out over 10 books instead of making 1 or 2 meaty ones. Uggghh I hate novellas! Just like the Gideon books… Yup still waiting for that ending! Hard Limit series is another…

Yes! I agree, def a 3 book series. I bet that publishers reason that it a book series sells over a certain number of copies they stretch the series to make as much money as they can, and of course we buy it though we secretly loathe it. Greed, eh? 😛
