Between the covers book club and Spanish chapter

Hello, lovely ladies 🙂

How quickly a week of hollies melts away *sigh* Wouldn’t it be nice to be paid to be on holiday? LOL!

I’m not sure if I’ve posted this before, but if you just LOOOOVE Jesse, Lord of the Manor, check out JEM’s site for Jesse POV shorts.

Then, I found this on Buzzfeed this week: an absolutely awesome LITERARY world map! So incredibly creative!

I didn’t get around to as much reading as I would have liked this week as me and the little miss was out having school holiday fun! 🙂

The Spanish readers will be thrilled with Kereny’s latest translation – the reason for this very early book club post 🙂 See chapter 65 in the sidebar.

This week I read:

hl

Hard Love by Meredith Wild, book five in the Hackers series, was good. I found it typical of what you might expect from this writer, but I still maintain that she should have kept with the three books instead of making the series into five. Good read, especially if you’re into epic series that last a loooong time and now, more worthwhile than before seeing as the series is complete.

Currently I’m reading:

dwn

Dark Wild Night by Christina and Lauren, book three in the Wild Seasons series.

mtm cdc nk

More than Music by Elizabeth Briggs, book one in the Chasing The Dream series, Colton’s Deep Cover (Also knows as The Cover) by Elle Kennedy, and Naughty King by Michelle A. Valentine, book one in the Manhattan Fairytale series.

Then, there are a whole lot for us to look forward to in October, not least of which is The Queen, the much anticipated final novel of the Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz. Here is what my Goodreads list has to offer us for the new month:

Then, do you have any handyman jobs that needs doing around your home?

LOL! 😉

Have a great weekend, girls. Let us know when you read something AWESOME!

OH HELL, that man can fall into my bed anytime. Love the picture. HA HA. This week I have been reading lots of fanfiction. I have decided not to read the third book in the white years of The Original Sinner until I have book 4 in hand. Amazon informed me that book 4 The Queen should be here aroung the first of November. Then I will read all 4 at one time. I am rereading Cherise Sinclair “MY Liege of Dark Haven”. I didn’t like it much the first time so thought I would give it a second chance. Then will read her last book.
Katherine found me on fanfiction and PM me. So funny how a group like this (Monique’s group from Australia), to Katherine from England to me in Oklahoma USA can find each other is such a big world. Like I’ve said before, Love this group.
Love to all. Going to the grandson American football game tonight, gotta run. So happy reading to all.

Love that we can connect like we do regardless of the boundaries that would usually never let us together. It’s beautiful! ❤ Happy reading, girlfriend 😉

ps The book “My Liege of Dark Haven” talks about chemical play. This was new to me. Look it up if you don’t know about it. It was very interesting to me. Damn I wish I had know about this stuff when I was 20

I know after last weeks comment some don’t like fanfiction but I love the fact that some people have such imagination. As Katherine said last week I might be a horney old lady who still acts like she is 20 but I have no imagination. Being a Registered nurse for 34 years you are taught to write so it will stand up in court, never blur the lines and don’t use flowery words. So reading others stories just fascinate me. Writers use words that I don’t know what the are or how to pronounce them. Another reason I like fanfiction. But I’m sure most of you don’t use oophorectomy in your everyday life like I do. So look that one up and add it you your dictionary.
    Love y’all

Sure thing, Crystal. The Hackers series is Erica and Blake’s story. He is (of course) a self made man with a hacking past and she is the quintessential up-and-coming professional (damaged) girl. They meet when she pitches a business plan in search of venture capital and though Blake turns her down, their chemistry is unmistakable. All sorts of drama ensue and amidst it all they find each other. The relationship is rocky at best and many forces conspire to keep them apart. Blake’s tastes in the bedroom veer to the darker and despite Erica’s past, she finds herself enthralled my his Dom side… Good writing, certainly sizzling, but a tad on the over-dramatic side, and as I’ve mentioned in my review, 5 books is quite long way to tell this story.

Yay for football game! Well done, Crystal’s grandson! 😉 Yes, it’s great if you can read a full series in one go. This one was a particular pain as the wait between books were long and then, at book 3, when you thought it would be the end, you learned that there would be more.

A handyman that looked like that would make an absolute fortune. You could sell tickets to your friends while he repaired all the things you were busy breaking! We have a delivery man that comes to the office 2 or 3 times a week. Every woman at the office manages to find work that needs to be done in the warehouse when he comes through. If he ever peeled off his shirt…..it would look like a bomb blew up, just lady bodies passed out on the floor all around the forklift! Desperately want to get a photo…but haven’t figured out a sneaky way to get it yet. And the funny thing is, he is not model gorgeous…but he has the “IT” factor just emanating from him. And damn, he totally knows how to use it.

I may eventually get to the Hacker’s series….it doesn’t sound like any of you were overwhelmed with it, but I like the premise. I LURVED Hollywood Dirt. Lovely fairy tale, set in Quincy, which is about 3 hrs away from me. I’ve visited Quincy several times over the years, but will never go back to it again without thinking of this book! And Cocky was one awesome character!
October comes, along with my Tiffany Reisz marathon…but in the meantime I opened up a standalone I’ve had forever called “The Vixen and the Vet” by Katy Regnery. I’m sure it must have been on sale at some point, and I’m also sure I selected based on the fun title, and the assumption it was an animal vet. (I’m usually a sure thing for pets and love stories…..hence my adoration for Cocky.) So I started it last night, and enjoying it quite a bit so far. Definitely a fairy tale, and says so right on the cover…but has nothing to do with an animal vet, this is a military veteran, and I’m guessing this will be kind of a “Beauty and the Beast” type of deal. But….so far, a thumbs up.
Crystal…you would be a scary woman if you went back to 20 with the wild woman you are today!! But you rock!!

Aww, I’m go glad you enjoyed HD, Sharon! It was lovely, and so different from the previous series from her. The lawyer, Brad De Luca, is from her Blindfolded Innocence series which I also enjoyed. The Hackers series is good, Sharon. My issues are more related to how long we waited in-between books and then her stretching a three series into a five, but the writing is good. Yesssss! Get us a photo of hot delivery guy, of him and his IT factor *cue sly grin* We have a business here in Brisbane, one that supplies ALL kinds of tradies: aircon, sparkies, appliance repair, IT guys, etc, but I have yet to come across a hot, sizzling wonder… *sigh* Great to hear from you! 😉

I loved that Brad DeLuca was the attorney. I kept thinking…I just know sooooo many things about you, Mr. DeLuca!! It made a fun touch to the book.

Oh, and the Vixen and the Vet was a lovely read if you feel like reading something standalone and not stressful. Very predictable, and the loving was quite……worthy. PLUS you got character development before they were in the middle of doing the wild thing! Yay!! Definitely based on the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, and the author donated half of the book proceeds to a very worthy wounded warrior cause. Almost all 5 stars on amazon, so I wasn’t alone in enjoying it.

Oh ladies…I am so happy to have you all. Too bad we can’t all be together for when FIFTY DARKER comes out!!
I never thought about why I loved Meander so much until Crystal said it…its true we nurses just write the facts, no flowers!! Monique is our flower!! Big bright-ass yellow sunflower!!!! 🙂
So I went with Beautifully Loyal… Loved it. She is back in her element with this new series. And so then I thought I would go for the short naughty read and got King… From M. Valentine. It was short, sexy and a fun read ~ I did not have to do too much thinking.
Still shying away from #5 Hardlove… The price is high for one and I just don’t want to be disappointed. There are lots of good ones coming up!!

    Anybody heard anything about Gideon??

Hi MAC, I am hearing lots of rumours about Gideon….November, March 2016 or May 2016. There are so many unhappy readers out there and no answers from SD. I’m convinced that she’s waiting for a big announcement about Book #5 and the TV series at the same time to hook readers back in. Also, she’s supposed to be releasing the Blacklist Series at roughly the same time….. Cxx

I think she makes it infinitely worse by keeping quiet. Hopefully it’s because she’s hoping to pull a rabbit from her hat and voila, one morning we’ll wake up and there it’ll be…

Yes! YES! Mass viewing of Darker for the LOGs!!! Make it so, Universal!! 😉 If I’m the flower that ya’ll are my sunshine 😉 Beautifully Loyal? Is that a new NE read? If so, I’m happy for you that’s she’s back on her game. I have King waiting for me… Happy days! Hard Love was good, MAC, I just think it should have been book three instead of book five. I hate feeling like I’m being squeezed for every red cent, you know? Crossfire news seems to be all over the place. I’ll believe it when I see the book downloaded on my phone! Ug! Wish she would hurry the hell up! With this long wait, I think, she’s either building expectations that can never be met or she’s losing too much steam. It was the same with Hard Love. The time in between is so vast that you forget what the hype and the story was about originally.

She’s gonna need a “mighty big hole” to rip that rabbit out of… I admit I often go back to the last release before going into the new one… To freshen up my memory but also to get back the angst and excitement too… I will have to reread the entire last Crossfire to even hope remembering it. Sometimes it just is not worth it cause you lose the momentum and the stories connections. Love Gideon think she did him a giant disservice with the delay. Only my teeney opinion.
Yes the Beautifully Loyal is a Nicole Edwards… Southern Boy Mafia number 2 – both were actually back on her game especially the last one being her forte…Menage!! Hoping she drops some of her lesser appealing ones but hey they must appeal to someone right!!
I could really do with another Jesse, Lord of the Manor book. Yes Please!!
