Yay! Happy, happy day when you finally get book three of a series you’ve been waiting for! Reclaim Me by Ann Marie Walker, book three in the Chasing Fire series, hit my bookshelf last night! If you’re looking for a book, similar to FSOG but still somehow fresh, this may be the one for you. #HotHudson

I’m drooling over the Queen shown underneath it!! Curious, Monique…where do you find these lists? You always make it look tailored to your blog!

Yes! Me too, Sharon. Isn’t pre-oder the BEST? 😉 What list are you referring to? The pic showing my books?

I see, I looked closer and see it is a screen capture of your phone. You had so many new books showing I thought it was an Amazon or goodreads thing.

LOL! Nope just a regular ‘ol screenshot of one of my reading apps 😉 I do post the Goodreads list of what’s to come every month of the authors I’ve read. I LOVE Goodreads, Sharon! I’d be lost without it!

I know you love Goodreads. When I have a few minutes, I enjoy going on there and adding books I’ve read and leaving reviews….but I can’t say I am really getting anything out of it. Finding a list of top Alphas was my best find, took me to a few books I wouldn’t have looked at otherwise.
What would you say are the top benefits of Goodreads for you?

LOL! Yes, sometimes it’s hit and miss! The thing I like the most is that end-of-the-month email of all the new books coming from authors I’ve read. That’s the one I post on here. Secondly, I would be utterly lost, looking at a new book and deciding if I should go for it! I look at my Goodreads “friends’s” reviews to help me make up my mind, I LOVE that I can make lists on it, and I love going back to see whom I’ve read and what I thought of the book. How else do you keep it all straight in your head? LOL!

Ok, I like the idea of that end of month email. But I’ve not received one. Was it something you signed up for, or do you remember?

Nope, I don’t think I did, Sharon. But I do know you can set which authors you want to see in your list and I think you may even be able to exclude some authors of your lists. I will check out the forward slash part of my link to it and see if we can’t get you to try it with your account. Hopefully I’ll remember when I’m home tonight.

Me again. So, I think you’d need to sign in to Goodreads and then enter the following link into your browser: https://www.goodreads.com/new_releases/2015/10 I will also email you a pic of my settings so you can copy. This should give you October books. See on the bottom of the page the little link to next month’s. Hope that helps!

Thanks Monique….I’m re-reading the This Man trilogy at the moment but will check out Chasing Fire next. I normally purchase these books through iBooks. What are the benefits of buying them through Amazon?? Cxx

Personally I prefer iBook simply because I can rearrange books to display in a certain order, but Amazon had a larger variety than iBooks and is sometimes cheaper than iTunes – at least here in Aus. Also, with iBooks, you have to manually update new versions of books but you can set automatic update on Amazon Kindle. Chasing Fire is pretty good.

I started with iBooks, and planned to stay devoted to it. Then some books I needed were not available on iBooks, but were on Amazon. So I started buying kindle books. Sometimes one will be a little less on one than the other, but I think they try to price match each other for the most part. I didn’t expect it, but I’ve grown to like kindle more. Just a couple of features, like locking in my reading screen based on position. But the biggest thing is I prefer are the reviews on Amazon, so even if I’m buying iBooks, I still ck the Amazon reviews. I know Monique prefers the Goodread reviews, but I’m not there quite yet. I do try my best to keep the same author on one or the other, or else I would lose track of what books I had and which I didn’t. They both are equally easy for reading. iBooks has primarily become my reader for PDF files and books.

Have you read “Nuts” yet? I think I liked it more than Clayton’s Cocktail series….which was great! And weighing in on the e-reader dilemma, I love my iPad for downloading books. Keep sending updates! Love them!
