Between the covers book club

Hello, lovely ladies 🙂

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you all enjoyed lovely Christmas and new year’s celebrations. Mine was awesome, but now I have to recover. LOL!

I came across this picture of a fantastic cake. Some folks are just so talented, but I’m not sure I could ever manage to eat something so special…

At the start of the hollies I found myself in a bit of a book slump, but mercifully it seems as though I’m back on the happy-reading train. Yay!

Since the last time I posted a book club post I’ve read:

Lawless by T.M. Frazier, book three in the King series, was typical of this author’s style: fast-paced and edgy. Once I started reading I realized that I was so not in the mood for a gritty, sometimes gruesome story such as this, so I’ve put it aside for now. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a great author and the series is certainly worthwhile pursuing if you feel like living through hard, rough, and ready men, but I am not inclined to these sharp edges ATM.

Wrapped In Lace by Prescott Lane was a great stand alone read. A sweet, sexy story that set a much happier tone to my Christmas break reading. It was just what I was looking for at the time. Thank you, Susan 😉

Bad Angels by Rebecca Chance and the subsequent (very short) epilogue novella was another fantastic read. I loved this writer’s refreshing style, the different glimpses into a range of points of view. The characters were great and initially, seemingly unconnected, but turns into an interesting mesh of happenstance. Thank you, Suanne 😉

Currently I’m reading:

kh

Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras, book one in the Hearts series.

Then, here are the books we can look forward to in January:

Lastly, my hubby sent me this…

Ha! It made me laugh out loud!! 🙂

Oh wow!! Lucky you!! I would LOVE to read her books for the first time again. I’m so glad that you’re enjoying them! She is phenomenal! Yes, awe is the perfect word. For me, the aspect that thrilled me most, was how well she knows her characters. It’s like she’s deep inside each one’s head. Enjoy! 😉

Everyone is like so broken, but then you realize, they’re not, they are who they were meant to be. Im barely at the third book, the prince, and the intrigue is killing me. Literally. I had to put the book down, because I had a headache! Too much thinking!

Love, love, love the library cake!! Such a work of art…love watching them create the cakes on the cooking networks. Can’t even imagine ever cutting into that!!
Well, I thought spending my Christmas and New Years week at the hospital would give me lots of reading time…but it was too distracting to get into and enjoy a new story. So I ended up on a re-read of R.K. Lilley’s “Up in the Air” series about Bianca the stewardess discovering her sexuality. Over & over & over & over again. Very prolific relationship for this girl!! This is one of my favorite series, and I hadn’t read it for a long time…and was perfect for the hospital time. The best friend character, Stephan, is my favorite Book Best Friend of all time. I would totally love to have a Stephan in my life. I enjoyed all of the books from this trilogy, as well as the darker trilogy that followed it called Bad Things.
Mother-In-Law continues with her amazing recovery. Best brain surgery ever. Happy 2016 everyone!!
