Between the covers book club and Spanish chapter

Hello, lovely ladies 🙂

Soooo close to the Easter break… Yay! Hope you all have plans to spend it with your precious ones.

The Spanish readers will be delighted with the latest and last of the main story chapters in the sidebar. Thank you, Kereny! Only two more short stories to go…. What a journey it’s been! Thank you for your incredible dedication, girlfriend.

Now, you guys know that Jamie wasn’t MY first choice for CG’s role. I don’t think he is terribly unsuited, but I’ve always maintained that he lacks the deep, smouldering intensity needed to play our complicated man. However, this week I found this photo on the Fifty Shades of Grey Pictures, News and Stories Facebook page and, for the first time, saw what I think the producers saw in him. In this pic he seems the perfect blend of boy and man, confidence and vulnerability, and the eyes? Perfect!

What do you think, girls?

The JustJared site features some set photos of Jamie looking buff while he takes Ana out to a restaurant.

This week I read:

sacked lc tc

Sacked by Jen Frederick, book one in the Gridiron series, was interesting. It didn’t start by sweeping me off my feet. Weird word choices, confusing dialogue, and skipping into scenes without proper prompts all left me feeling mostly confused, but, despite the false start, it still kept me reading. Overall I liked the story – very Elle Kennedy/Kristen Callihan from their respective college sports novels, but it needs a good editor to make it great.

Love, Chloe by Alessandra Torre was lovely. This author seems to have two writing settings, hectic intensity or sweetly complex. This book was of the latter variety and as satisfying as always. A great read.

The Confessions by Tiffany Reisz was just another example of this author’s iron grip on our genre. Effortless sophistication coupled with creative, fascinatingly deep characters, make these books a winner EVERY TIME! Just too damn short!

Currently I’m reading:

rh

Roomhate by Penelope Ward. I’m trying this author’s solo attempts as I was so impressed with her collaboration with Vi Keeland in Cocky Bastard.

Here’s an offer you can’t refuse…

LOL! 😉

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies!

Hi Monique I could do with a hug ………..nice 😉
So this week I went back to Cocky Bastard after your review last week and I have to say despite not liking Chance at all in the early chapters I loved it! It was so good I laughed quite a bit loved Chance by the end and so glad I gave it another go.
I then read Reckless by Nicole Edwards it wasn’t my cup of tea it was m/m sex which isn’t my thing.
I looked at Roomhate but I’ll wait until next week to see what you think.
Looking forward to Easter have the outlaws coming from England for a week so wish me luck lol.
Taking myself to an overnight spa on Monday all on my own can’t wait so I need something great to read.
    Have a great week x

LOL! Yes, me too, Katherine. A few, actually! 😉
I’m so glad you ended up enjoying Cocky Bastard. I felt exactly as you did. He started out as such a bastard (I guess the clue was in the name), but in the end I loved the story, not to mention the fainting goat!
I can see where Cocky Bastard’s bastard comes from… Roomhate’s guy is also a d!ck… Will let you know next week…. 😉

Damn, why don’t the free hug guys ever show up around here? And being frightened of the crazy lady running at them full-tilt is not a good enough reason, LOL. Would love a good snuggle! And yummy picture of Jamie! I like his hair a bit more ruffled like that…and more like Christian!
So….finished my first Tessa Bailey book, “Protecting What’s His”, and it was a nice, hot, standalone read. Nothing overwhelming, but would be fun for the spa, Katherine (you lucky girl!). I’ll read more from her at some point, but went to Confessions by Tiffany Reisz! Loved all of it, but no active sex for those of you that would be disappointed. Just more character development….and I absolutely cannot get enough of that hot, sizzling group! Was so happy to add this book to my collection!
Then I read Feverborn by Karen Moning…..who is a favorite of mine, and does paranormal hot guys…. She left me completely traumatized by a vicious, throw myself over a cliff-hanger of an ending. Now I have a one year wait! Much prefer completed series, but already addicted to this one.
I reread Kristen Ashley’s “Golden Dynasty” to comfort my raw nerves….and now intend to enjoy a “Cocky Bastard”. However, I haven’t been able to get past stroking the cover. Golly-wolly, he is a pretty thing. Looks like a young Brad Pitt.
“Love, Chloe” is waiting for me after that….glad to hear good things about it from you, Monique!

Wow, busy week, Sharon. It must be all the hug-time you have to give up! LOL!
Ooohhh, and a tough cliffie plus a year long wait?? That’s rough! Don’t you just wish writers would stop dilly-dallying, stop with the eating, sleeping, family time and just get on with writing awesome books 24/7? LOL!
Oh, I hope you enjoy Cocky Bastard. Don’t let his initial bastardom put you off. Let us know, girlfriend! 😉

    Hi Monique, Hope all is well with you and yours. I most agree with “The Confession” by Tiffany Reisz was too short, I just wanted so much more. There are no words that encompass her masterful writing and I am forever a fan. I have just begun “Love, Chloe” and I agree with you again, looks like another good one; she is a good writer. By the way, will you be writing again soon?;

Hi! 🙂 She is a magnificent writer. I don’t think I can ever get enough of the Original Sinners series. She reportedly said that she’s not finished with OS forever, just finished for now. Here’s hoping.
Love, Chloe was great! Hope you enjoy.
As for me and my writing, I’m not sure. Since going back to work my time is not my own anymore…

Hi Monique! Have you read Georgia Cates’ “Sin Trilogy”? I just finished the first one, and have to say that I cannot wait to dive into the second installment. I get so many great suggestions from you, that I thought I’d pass this one along (though I suspect you’ve already made it through this series). You and I seem to have very similar tastes in books, so use you as a regular source for recommendations. 🙂
Incidentally, I loved your original writing as well! Was sad to see Meander come to an end, but it was a joy to read (several times!). Hope you had a great weekend!

    Hi ladies,
Well the wind in blowing 20-30 mph here is Southern Oklahoma. All the trees are leafing out and the tulips are in full bloom just in time for Easter.

I finished reading book 3 “Travis” in Nicole Edward Alluring Indulence series and let me tell you I need a walk in freezer to cool off. It is way above a wet panties. You need panties liners! Its m/m, m/f and m/f/m. The way she developes the story line between the three, Travis, Kylie, and Gage is wonderful and to see them fall in love and their families welcome them in, I know, may not be true life, but for me it’s the way life should be. I’ll be moving on to book 4.

My read for this week will be “The Confessions” All of Tiffany Reisz’s writing is outstanding and I’m glad to hear you say this is no different.

I’ve been reading lots of Fanfiction but I find a good story and then find that the author has left it high and dry. That really pisses me off.
    Have a great Easter.

Oohh, I’ll have to put panty-Melting Nicole book on my “to-read” list. Thanks for the tip, Crystal! Nothing wrong with some bedroom antics escapism 😉
The Confessions is good, as always, but very lite in the bedroom and stupidly short. Be warned, it will certainly not last you all week! You’ll have to have a go-to book lined up! Good to hear from you. Hope your son is still getting better and better.
