Laters…

Hey girls 🙂
Due to a little procedure I had done this week I’ve been REALLY slow with my reading. As you know, I was in the middle of rereading Crossfire, and as I’m only 1/3 into the newest of the books, I’ve decided to postpone my book club post until I’m done so we can all chat about it together. See ya’ when I’m done.
Happy weekend!

Hope you are feeling better soon Monique. I went to the local shop the day after One With You was released and there wasn’t any! I was spitting feathers, so rather then go to another shop I went back home and ordered the book from Amazon (something I should have done in the first place). The book Has arrived this morning so I am a happy person now. Get well soon Monique. To all my fellow readers enjoy One With You.

Monique, I am dying to read this book. Dying. BUT I must finish my rereads of the series before I start. I’m 2/3 through Captivated by You, so I should be able to start reading One with You tomorrow. I want to beg Gideon to please not leave me. I look forward to your thoughts in next week’s post.

I expect to finish reading One with You on my flight to Las Vegas tomorrow…it’s 5 1/2 hours to get there but I’m a slow reader, so we’ll see how far into it I can get. Sylvia Day will be at the RT Convention there and I hope to meet her. I’m taking all 5 of my books to be signed. Wish me luck!

I don’t comment much, but I want you to know that I read your posts every week! Please keep me on your list 🙂

OMG….hope the procedure was really minor and that you have a full recovery.

I haven’t caught up on the past several weeks’ posts yet b/c I’ve been traveling in the US with less than adequate WiFi. But now at my daughter’s and all is A-Okay. Just wanted to tell you something that might make you smile and get the good healing immune thingies flowing for you: having some nice time with my new grandson….Elliot. That gets me smiling all the time. But best of all…and I kid you not…the older kids call him Lelliot. I’m melting.

I’m next in line to get the Sylvia Day book from the library. I hope I remember enough of the plot to hit the ground running as I start to read. I also just got Hard Ball by a favorite author CD Reiss. So far it’s more like Pucked than her other hard hitting stuff. So very interesting to see how authors adjust their style to the tastes-of-the-minute.

    Again, quick recovery.

Hey Lissa. Congratulations on your cute grandson. I can see why your heart melts. Enjoy spending time with your family.
As far as Crossfire is concerned, I’m really glad I reread before I took on book 5, but she recovers a lot of reminding ground in the latest addition. I think you’ll be fine jumping right in.
And thank you for your well wishes. Yup, all good. I had laser eye surgery which is great considering I’ve ditched the glasses, but it meant I couldn’t read this whole last week. That was frustrating to say the least. I ended up purchasing the audio companions and listening to that. It was cool, at least gave me something to do, but not as nourishing as actually reading. Good to hear from you 😉

Be better my friend. Curl up with Gideon so you can give the review all you got. Gives me time to go back and reread the last few chapters cause I was not kidding about the confusion.

    Be well 💋

  17. I get the Kindle book and the narration add on. I cleaned Tuesday and Thursday while listening to the book. Finished it Thursday, but looking forward to actually reading it.

***SPOILER ALERT FOR CROSSFIRE** I loved the book but— I agree 100% with your book review. Could someone please tell me why did Monica need to die rather than survive with a long stay in the hospital. This mom survived an abusive marriage, living with the knowledge of her sister and daughter being raped, and her sister left for dead and then her daughter life threatened. Why didnt she get a happy ever after with the daughter she loved?

Yeah, I hear you, Renee. From a writer’s POV, the rule of thumb with pivotal moments, is to write the worst thing that can happen to your character. In this case, Gideon being unfaithful/dying would have been it, but naturally, there’s no way to come back from that, so the next best thing would have been something irrevocable to happen to Victor, Cary or mom… Not sure I would have gone that route, but it certainly was shocking 😉
