Hello there, lovely ladies 🤗

How was your week? Mine, as always, was BUSY. Sometimes I wish I could hit pause on my life to simply catch my breath.

But, it wasn’t without some game show frivolity….

Thank you, Sharon for making me laugh out loud! 😂

And thank you for all the St Paddy’s Day wishes. I hope you celebrated responsibly. 🍀

This week I read:

The Deep End by Kristen Ashley, book 1 in the Honey series, started out on a high note, and by high note I mean scorching! Phew! But, and this is a big BUT, it is a massive departure from her normal writing. Her style remained, but this book contained a lot less story and a whole lot more nooky. A WHOLE lot more! And kinky as they come. (Yes, pun fully intended). 😉 And while I didn’t mind the kink, nor the fact that it was a Domme with her “Alpha” sub (I had my reservations: I was worried that I’d see the guy as a whimp), I did find that the lovin’ went from smokin’ and intriguing to repetitive rather quickly. And if fluffy tailed plugs aren’t your thing, (it certainly made me spray my tea all over my screen 😳), then I suggest you head in another direction.

Currently I’m reading:

One Hot December by Tiffany Reisz, book 3 in the Men at Work series. I’ve had this on my shelf for a while, so I’m happy to finally get to enjoy the final instalment of this standalone series.

On my shelf I have:

Addicted by Elle Kennedy, book 2 in the Outlaws series.

Lastly, perhaps you can relate to this as much as me: there’s always that one person, right? 😝

LOL! 😂

Have a stunning weekend, girls. I will see ya’ next week!

Happy St Paddy’s Day!

Just for the sake of a little bit of fun, I think Shaun and his crew says it best…. 🍀

Hello there, lovely ladies 🤗

I hope you had a lovely reading week. Have you got any news to share? Anything exciting happened?

Here’s what I found: Ellen takes Fifty to Disney…

And if you love the look of Jamie, you might find this promo shoot clip enticing…

They do look good together, though, rumour has it, that both him and Dakota hate the Fifty Shades franchise. I guess it can’t be easy to play the main characters in such a loved but controversial story. 😜

This week I read:

Royally Matched by Emma Chase, book 2 in the Royally series, was another great installment in this range. She does cute well, but damn, she can also write a heart wrenching scene with the best of them.

Currently I’m reading:

The Deep End by Kristen Ashley book 1 in the Honey series. Usually I don’t like to put the horse before the cart, but in this case, I’m going to go out on a limb. I’m only about halfway through, and though I was reluctant at first because the theme: a Domme topping an Alpha sub, I gave it a go anyway. She promised that, with this new series, she was going to turn up the heat, and though I’m still not going to run to the nearest BDSM-R-Us to find my inner Mistress, this book is off-the-charts H.O.T. 😉 As always, her regular style is evident and she’s wordy as all getout, but it quickly grew into an intriguing tale. I will let you know my final thoughts next week. And if you’re wondering WTF an Alpha sub is, don’t feel alone. Before this book, those two terms seemed mutually exclusive to me! Guess I was wrong 😝

In celebration of this past week’s International Women’s Day, here’s a bit of female friendship truth…

Have a great week, girls. I hope you meet some lovely books to share with us.

Hello, lovely ladies 🤗

How are you this fine day? We’ve had a welcome start to autumn, a blessed relief from the incessant heat that’s been plaguing the Eastern parts of our country. Phew!

Without much preamble, let’s get stuck into this week’s blog:

Bookstr reports on some nutter’s self published book miscrediting E L James, calling it her “earlier” work. She’s denied any ownership of this book, but it makes me so mad when folks blatantly steal like that. *imagine me getting on my soap box* For all the pleasure authors give us I believe they deserve every red cent coming to them. Erika might not be a good example, because we all know that she’s swimming in it, (not that that should matter), but even fairly well known writers do not make a vast living from just putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, as the case may be. Spread the love, peeps. Don’t take something that doesn’t belong to you. 😝

And while the Darker movie is not yet cold, most of us are ready for the cinematic conclusion of our obsession. Check out these fan made clips of Freed:

People are so creative. Where do they get the time?

This week I read:

fs

Fidelity by Aleatha Romig, book 5 in the Infidelity series. My 3 star rating is mainly due to 2 reasons: firstly, the series is too long. You have to be sure that your story is gripping as all hell if you’re going to subject your readers to 5 purchases. And secondly, though I LOVE a well-researched, action packed story, and I understand that a lot of scenes in the genre we read are a tad exaggerated, there comes a time when a storyline is simply too implausible to ignore. And when innocent folks end up in jail, no matter how bitchy they were to the main character, I balk at an author’s sense of justice. Note to writers: when you put something out into the big, wide world, please remember that you have a voice, one that may reach many, many people. As is the case IRL, keep your words soft and sweet AND real.

Currently I’m reading:

Royally Matched by Emma Chase, book 2 in the Royally series. As far as I’m concerned you can NEVER go wrong with a prince and a fairytale…. 😉

Then, as a fitting ending to this week’s post, I thought I’d share a little life truth:

Short and sweet today, girls. Have a beautiful weekend!
