Between the covers book club

Hello there, lovely ladies đŸ€—

Thank you for all your kind get-well-soon messages! I’m sure they aided my recovery. I’m much better now. 😊

I know it’s well and truly over, but seeing as I missed saying it last week, let me say Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers. I hope you savoured connecting with your loved ones. ❀

I had fun watching this fan made mash-up of the previous two movies’ trailers. It was a good reminder of where it all started…

This one is based on the Freed trailer but I really liked that the clips came with text from the book.

And this is the German edition of the trailer…

Love that it gives us a tiny extra scene! 😉

This week I read:

Kissing Tolstoy / Nobody Looks Good in Leather Pants (or Bow-ties) by Penny Reid, book 1 in the Dear Professor series, was delightful. I simply cannot get enough of Ms Reid’s quirky style, and now that she’s getting more and more adventurous with her bedroom scenes, she has a lifelong fan in me.

Defiant Queen by Meghan March, book 2 in Mount Trilogy, was a much better offering that the first in the range. However, this one left us on another cliffie. Thankfully we’ll see book 3 soon.

Bodyguard by C. D. Reiss, book 2 in the Hollywood A-List, was a nice departure from the usual bodyguard-style story. I enjoyed reading it and I especially liked the son touch. His character added a nice dab of reality.

Breaking Hollywood by Samantha Towle was my only dud this week. I usually enjoy her books though they might be a little cookie-cutter at times. But this one? Not so much. I’m not sure what went wrong, but the too-prefect heroine and assholeish male protagonist left me cold. Aside from that, the book was heavily contrived. Not even the addition of a cute goat could save this one for me.

Currently I’m reading:

Grey by E. L. James and Darker by E. L. James, book 1 and 2 of the Fifty Shades as Told by Christian series. Actually I’m listening to Grey while reading Darker. As a side note, it’s worth getting the Audible Companion because Christian’s voice is very nice indeed. 😉😉 But back to the new addition. I had a stupidly crazy week despite my desire to sink my teeth into Darker, but sadly it was not to be. Although I’m not done, please feel free to share your thoughts. đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»

Then, with the advent of December, we have the following new releases to look forward to:

I’ll bid you adieu with this cute meme from Sharon…

😂😂

Have a lovely weekend, girls.

Hello there, lovely ladies đŸ€—

I hope your reading week was deliciously entertaining. Mine certainly was. 😉

This, apparently, is the extended trailer, already marked trailer 2…

As far as I can tell it’s the teaser trailer blended with the trailer. I suspect we’ll see a lot more little bits of the movie during the festive season.

I liked this meme, not that I have many actual books, but if my reading apps were to manifest themselves in real life, I suspect that I might be called a book hoarder:

😉

Let’s look at what I read this week…

This week I read:

The Coppersmith Farmhouse by Devney Perry, book 1 in the Jamison Valley series, was good, but a touch implausible. From the reviews I had high hopes for this one, but I wasn’t blown away.

Beard in Mind by Penny Reid, book 4 in the Winston Brothers series, was fantastic. And she took the bedroom antics up a notch. It was a nice touch, made for a great all-rounder read.

Currently I’m reading:

Nobody Looks Good in Leather Pants (or Bowties)/Kissing Tolstoy by Penny Reid, book 1 in the Professor series and Defiant Queen by Meghan March, book 2 in the Mount Trilogy.

On my shelf I have:

Bodyguard by C. D. Reiss, book 2 in the Hollywood A-List series.

I’ll leave you with this…

LOL! 😂😂

Have a beautiful week, girls. Let us know if you find anything awesome to share.
