Hello there, lovelies 🤗

My hollies are coming to an end, but I had a lovely rest. Pity I didn’t get to immerse myself in all the books I promised myself I’d read. Oh well. 😜

Here’s a bit of interesting news. Elle reports on Jamie Dornan singing for the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack. Yes, Mr Grey will be performing “Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney. Who knew he could sing? 🤔

And now there are so many versions of the trailer I’ve completely lost track. Have we seen this one?

Lastly, Ellen pokes fun at Fifty…..

For those of you with new year’s resolutions, here’s one I subscribe to: dance like nobody’s watching! (Ps: you might need to be signed in to Facebook to see this clip)

LOL! 😉😂

This week I read:

Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo, book 1 in the Bellevue Bullies series, was almost great. Had it not been for the heavy repetition of key, overused words I may have enjoyed this one more.

On my shelf I have:

We Own Tonight by Corinne Michaels.

Here’s a good piece of advice when it comes to gift giving, just so you don’t get someone’s hopes up!

LOL! 😂😂

Have a fabulous weekend, girls.

Hello there, lovelies 🤗

How are you this fine weekend? And how is the new year treating you so far?

Still in celebration of the silly season, Sharon shared this cute meme:

Poor little guy! 😂

I have some delightful news for my fellow Brisbane readers. Universal Pictures has extended an invitation to me to invite my readers to join me at the FIFTY SHADES FREED BRISBANE PREMIERE SCREENING on Wednesday the 7th of February, 2018. Yes, you get to see the movie before the rest of Australia. Yay! 🎉 Arrive at 6pm for some bubbly before the movie starts at 6:45pm, Event Cinemas Indooroopilly. I will need your name and email address to pass on to Universal Pictures Australia for your participation, and naturally you’ll need to get yourself there. Reply here on the blog, via email, Facebook, Twitter, or smoke signals to join the fun. First come, first serve, ladies so let me know sooner, rather than laters, baby. 😉

“Fifty Shades Freed, in Cinemas Feb 8”

“Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Freed, the third chapter based on the worldwide bestselling “Fifty Shades” phenomenon.  Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015 and 2017’s blockbuster films that grossed almost $950 million globally, the new installment arrives for Valentine’s Day 2018. In Cinemas Feb 8. Check out the Fifty Shades Freed Movie site for more.”

Harper’s Bazaar reports on a new tidbit at the end of the extended version of the trailer.

We see Ana getting the happy news of her pregnancy. Yay!

And here’s another boasting an extended version….

Frankly, they release so many I’m no sure what I’ve seen and what not! LOL! 😂

This week I read:

The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Cherry, book 1 in the Elements series. Hmm. What can I say about this story? The writing is good and the characters interesting, but it made me cry. Not something I look for in a book, but I can appreciate the skill it takes to touch a reader’s heart.

On my shelf I have:

Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo, book 1 in the Bellevue Bullies series.

Here’s something we can all relate to after the festive season….

Have a good week, girls. Let’s hear about your epic reads!

Hello there, lovelies 🤗

As we are one of the initial countries to ring in the the new year let me be the first to say HAVE AN ABSOLUTE BRILLIANT 2018! My hope is that all of us will live long and happy lives in a peaceful world, filled with fabulous books! 🎉

And seeing that it’s still sorta’ Christmas I thought I’d share this Viking Santa….

I’m sure you can see why I couldn’t pass this one up. 😉😉 PS: you may have to be signed into Facebook to see the clip.

Then, Cosmo gives us a sneak peek at Christian and Ana’s first Dance as a wedded couple in Freed…

This week I read:

Taint by S. L. Jennings was an interesting read. The theme was quite refreshing, and for the most part it is well written – if not a tad overstated, but it failed to capture my heart completely. The characters seemed a little shallow and the ending was super abrupt.

Currently I’m reading:

The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Cherry, book 1 in the Elements series and Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo, book 1 in the Bellevue Bullies series.

Then,  with the new month upon is, let’s have a look at what goodies Goodreads bring:

In conclusion, let me leave you with something to ponder. I don’t know about you, but I certainly prefer the man on the left. What ever happened to the well heeled man’s man?

Huh. 🤔

Well, that’s it from me for today, girls. If you’re partying, party hard, but please, do so responsibly. 🍾

Cheers, girlfriends! See ya’ next year!

Hello there, lovely ladies 🤗

Welcome to the Christmas edition book club. As you can see I’m back from my hollies and well rested. 😉

So? Have you been good or bad? Are you on Santa’s naughty list?

To celebrate the season let me kick off with some festive apparel. Amazon is ready to fill your stocking with these fun gifts – ranging from the cute to the naughty…

LOL! 😂😂

Or how about a festive Santa hat, one that holds wine?

#GreatIdea 👍🏻

Then, what would Christmas be without a song?

This one is taken from the Laters, Baby UK site. Pretty cute, huh? 😉

If you celebrate Christmas, celebrate with all your heart. May the season bring you the peace it promises.

Back to the matter at hand. As expected we got an extended version of the trailer for the holidays. Here are 3 versions for you to comb through for more movie tidbits:

And lastly, here is a single from the film’s album:

For You by Liam Payne featuring Rita Ora.

Though my holiday was absolutely awesome I spent most of my time in the water, and therefore didn’t get to the trio of books I had waiting for me. I did however start a book on the plane home….

Currently I’m reading:

Taint by S. L. Jennings. This story has an intriguing theme and is written from a guy’s point of view. So far, I’m enjoying it very much.

On my shelf I have:

The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Cherry and We Own Tonight by Corinne Michaels.

Not that we have ANY snow here in Aus for Chrissy, let alone a snowman, but here’s an adorable snowman joke:

Have a great Christmas, girls!

Hello there, lovely ladies 🤗

How are you this fine weekend? Before I start, allow me just a tiny moment of housekeeping. I will be away on holiday (Yay!) for a bit so I will not be posting the book club over the weekend of the 16th. I should, however, be back for the weekend before Christmas. 😉

Then, I had a fun request from Sharon to share how we celebrate Christmas in Australia. Naturally, with summer in full swing, we don’t have snow, so a white festive season is out of the question, plus turkey is hardly the ideal thing for the BBQ. This cute video says it all…

LOL! 😂 Lots of Aussie vocab in that one. See these helpful translations:

(Esky: an ice box to keep your drinks cold * Kelpie: a breed of dog used especially for sheep herding * Singlet: a tank top * Thongs: flip flop sandals * Beaut = short for beautiful * Holden ute = Holden is a car brand (like Toyota) and ute is short for sport and utility vehicle (a pick-up truck for the American readers) * Shoot through: to leave)

Rather than the traditional turkey most folks enjoy prawns on the BBQ, a fruit topped pavlova is a favorite for dessert, and Santa wears board shorts! It’s definitely not your typical snowy Christmas card scene. 😜

This week I read:

Darker by E. L. James, book 2 in the Fifty Shades as Told by Christian series.

It’s a little hard for me to review this one objectively. I’ve read the originals so many times that I might be able to recite them word for word. It’s impossible to say how I’d feel about this version if I had the opportunity to read it with fresh eyes. On the one hand I’m very disappointed with the lazy writing. Some lines were repeatedly lifted from the first book, and some phrases (“I want her”, “my body responds”, “as if she’s addressing my groin”, and “it’s arousing” – to name a few) were so overused that I had to wonder where her editor was. Also, I found most of the sex scenes decidedly clinical. There was very little expansion on them other than the mirror of conversation we saw in the original story. I would have loved to have read more of how he saw her, in their day-to-day interactions and well as in their intimate moments. In my humble opinion, that’s what made the insight into his thoughts so appealing in the first place. But there were definite light points too. I enjoyed seeing a little deeper into his relationship with Elena and the colored-in bits around his encounter with Leila and the Charlie-Tango accident. Overall, I feel lukewarm. It’s an extremely relaxed read that doesn’t require too much investment from the reader. Nevertheless, I will most certainly read the third book when the time comes. I hope she builds enough momentum with this to spark more interest for the third movie.

On my shelf I have:

The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Cherry, book 1 in the Elements series and Taint by S. L. Jennings, book 1 in the Sexual Education series. The latter has a very interesting blurb. I’m super curious to see if it will be worthwhile.

This made me smile. You’ve gotta’ love the beauty of hope!

Have a wonderful couple of weeks, girls. I look forward to sharing my holiday reads with you when I come back. Feel free to comment while I’m away. I’ll be around to chat.

Hello there, lovely ladies 🤗

Thank you for all your kind get-well-soon messages! I’m sure they aided my recovery. I’m much better now. 😊

I know it’s well and truly over, but seeing as I missed saying it last week, let me say Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers. I hope you savoured connecting with your loved ones. ❤️

I had fun watching this fan made mash-up of the previous two movies’ trailers. It was a good reminder of where it all started…

This one is based on the Freed trailer but I really liked that the clips came with text from the book.

And this is the German edition of the trailer…

Love that it gives us a tiny extra scene! 😉

This week I read:

Kissing Tolstoy / Nobody Looks Good in Leather Pants (or Bow-ties) by Penny Reid, book 1 in the Dear Professor series, was delightful. I simply cannot get enough of Ms Reid’s quirky style, and now that she’s getting more and more adventurous with her bedroom scenes, she has a lifelong fan in me.

Defiant Queen by Meghan March, book 2 in Mount Trilogy, was a much better offering that the first in the range. However, this one left us on another cliffie. Thankfully we’ll see book 3 soon.

Bodyguard by C. D. Reiss, book 2 in the Hollywood A-List, was a nice departure from the usual bodyguard-style story. I enjoyed reading it and I especially liked the son touch. His character added a nice dab of reality.

Breaking Hollywood by Samantha Towle was my only dud this week. I usually enjoy her books though they might be a little cookie-cutter at times. But this one? Not so much. I’m not sure what went wrong, but the too-prefect heroine and assholeish male protagonist left me cold. Aside from that, the book was heavily contrived. Not even the addition of a cute goat could save this one for me.

Currently I’m reading:

Grey by E. L. James and Darker by E. L. James, book 1 and 2 of the Fifty Shades as Told by Christian series. Actually I’m listening to Grey while reading Darker. As a side note, it’s worth getting the Audible Companion because Christian’s voice is very nice indeed. 😉😉 But back to the new addition. I had a stupidly crazy week despite my desire to sink my teeth into Darker, but sadly it was not to be. Although I’m not done, please feel free to share your thoughts. 👍🏻👍🏻

Then, with the advent of December, we have the following new releases to look forward to:

These screenshots with the compliments of Goodreads. 👍🏻

I’ll bid you adieu with this cute meme from Sharon…

Have a lovely weekend, girls.

Hello there, lovely ladies 🤗

I hope your reading week was deliciously entertaining. Mine certainly was. 😉

This, apparently, is the extended trailer, already marked trailer 2…

As far as I can tell it’s the teaser trailer blended with the trailer. I suspect we’ll see a lot more little bits of the movie during the festive season.

I liked this meme, not that I have many actual books, but if my reading apps were to manifest themselves in real life, I suspect that I might be called a book hoarder:

Let’s look at what I read this week…

This week I read:

The Coppersmith Farmhouse by Devney Perry, book 1 in the Jamison Valley series, was good, but a touch implausible. From the reviews I had high hopes for this one, but I wasn’t blown away.

Beard in Mind by Penny Reid, book 4 in the Winston Brothers series, was fantastic. And she took the bedroom antics up a notch. It was a nice touch, made for a great all-rounder read.

Currently I’m reading:

Nobody Looks Good in Leather Pants (or Bowties)/Kissing Tolstoy by Penny Reid, book 1 in the Professor series and Defiant Queen by Meghan March, book 2 in the Mount Trilogy.

On my shelf I have:

Bodyguard by C. D. Reiss, book 2 in the Hollywood A-List series.

I’ll leave you with this…

LOL! 😂😂

Have a beautiful week, girls. Let us know if you find anything awesome to share.
