On the last day of my holiday let me wish you a happy World Chocolate Day for Friday. 🎉 What I don’t understand is why the day isn’t celebrated with a public holiday?? Seems fair considering the joy chocolate brings! 😉
Then, I have some fun news to share. Firstly, if you follow social media, you might have witnessed the Twittersphere explode with news of Jamie playing golf this week. Doesn’t seem newsworthy until you take a closer look at the picture…
Oh my. Is that a golf ball in your pocket or are you just happy to see us? 😉 Thank you, Lissa and Sharon for brightening my day with this tidbit.
We’ve all heard the rumours of Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series being turned into a TV series, but that project has been taken off the table according to her site. However, Sharon found this….
Aftershock and Afterburn, another series from Ms. Day, is being made into a movie. Though I’ve read both books, mostly to while away the time as I waited for a new Crossfire novel, I’m having a hard time recalling the details of the story. Interesting that they would go with this particular range rather than her more well known books.
Lastly, for those of you with romantic hearts, check out these adorable doodles from Bored Panda illustrating a happy couple’s life:
Cute, huh? ❤️
Currently I’m reading:
Raw Need by Cherrie Lynn, book 2 in the Larson Brothers series. I haven’t gotten very far yet, so the jury is still out.
On my shelf I have:
Dirty Girl by Meghan March, book 1 in the Dirty Girl Duet series.
The Club by Lauren Rowe, book one in the Club series. It was certainly an interesting theme and chock full of hot, broken man who falls hard for the sweet girl – all very typical of our genre, and for me, maybe a tad too typical. I gave it a reluctant four stars but only because there are no half stars on Goodreads.
Currently I’m reading:
The Librarian Principle by Helena Hunting. Seems I’m on a lukewarm book streak the the moment.
I don’t know where I’m going next. Maybe I should reach for one of my failsafe authors.
That’s all from me today, girls. Hope you have a beautiful day!
Chapter 55 is kicking my ass! Call it writers block but Ana’s foray into the Red Room is a whole lot of blank screen right now despite me staring at it since Friday! As a result I’m having a little crisis of faith in my own abilities, I honestly have no idea what to do about it. I am not ready to post it. You know I hate doing this, I really don’t like letting you down, and I know you are waiting with bated breath, but there really is nothing I can do other than apologise profusely. And NO, I am not doing this to tease you, even I’m not that cliffie cruel. I don’t know when the muse will be back, maybe she’s on vacation?? If you have her, please send her back!!! I really do not want to commit to a time, but I’m hoping that it’s soon!
I’ve also been encouraged by so many of you kind and understanding readers to change my chapter posts from weekly to fortnightly in order help me cope with my new time constraints. Please understand that this is not a consideration I’m taking lightly, and as we are drawing near to the end of Meander, this is something I may have to do. I’m mentioning it only for the sake of managing your expectations.
This week I read:
Rush by Maya Banks. As I mentioned last week, this is an author that I’ve heard wonderful things about, and have been meaning to try for the longest time. I was not disappointed. Hot and well written, a great read with a strong male lead. I will definitely be reading the whole series.
On my shelf I have:
Breathe Me In by Cherrie Lynn, the prequel to Leave Me Breathless and Fever, book two of the Breathless series by Maya Banks.
Then onto some FSOG movie news:
According to the Laters Baby FSOG fan site, The List (UK) reported that Cara Delevingne has had an audition for a “strong secondary” role for the film…. Like Crissy from the Laters Baby site, I too suspect it is to play Kate.
I know at least one reader that will be thrilled to hear that Devin Paisley’s name is popping up to play Christian. I’ve used him as inspiration for Chris’s rocker piano teacher. What do you think ladies? Could this be our CG?
According to Enstarz, Leighton Meester may be another contender for our long awaited movie.
Exactly one year today, I posted Fifty Shades Meander on the Fan Fiction site!
Since then I’ve written 268 489 words (excluding the one-shots) which equate roughly to FIVE BOOKS, if you follow the industry genre standard!
So – from me to you – thank you so much for your support and your encouragement, for taking a chance on a story I know starts in a very bad place for the couple we adore, the reviews and the books, the trailer links, the music, the suggestions, the fixes, but mostly thank you for your friendship 😉
To celebrate this very happy event I’ve written a Crossfire one-shot (Gideon’s POV) because so many of you have asked for a love scene between Gideon and Eva. Find Gideon Meander in the sidebar.
But that’s not all… if you call now…. LOL! 😀
Seeing that so many of us are still on a Real high, the author, Katy Evans was kind enough to grant me an interview to celebrate Meander’s birthday! Cool right? And between me and you, let me tell you, she is as lovely as her book! It’s so refreshing to find a writer that keeps in touch with her fans the way she does.
These are the questions I asked her…
Boys – athletically lean or Remy-style bulging muscles?
I love both, actually!
Ice-cream or chocolate?
Name one food you would never eat.
What do you think about when you’re folding the washing?
Plots and characters!
If you could pick anyone, who would you like to have a dinner date with?
If you weren’t a writer you would be…?
A nutritionist or an athlete.
What is your favourite children’s book?
The Hungry Caterpillar.
Who is your favourite author?
So many! But I think the ones I grew up reading are the ones that have stuck with me through the years. Julie Garwood, Jude Deveraux, Judith McNaught. Love you!
If you had to pick just one, which song would you pick for Real?
Is Remy based on someone real?
No. But he’s as real as it gets to me.
According to Goodreads we can expect a total of five books in the Real, Raw and Ripped series, do we really have that much of Remy to look forward to? 😉
Well, they are not all about Remy and Brooke. Remy and Brooke get REAL, MINE and REMY (his POV story) and then Melanie gets her own book, and the last one is a surprise. 🙂
Following the success of Real, are you more or less nervous about the release of Mine (book two in the Real, Raw and Ripped series)?
I’m hopeful that you will all love it as much as you loved Real! My goal is to be as true to what Remington and Brooke as I was in the first book, so I’m trying to be faithful to them and to what they want to say.
When is Mine scheduled to be released?
Nothing is set in stone, but I’m hoping at the latest by fall 2013.
Is Remy baby-ready or will he be concerned about passing his condition on to his offspring?
Not sure, I haven’t talked to him about that.
How much research did you do into Remy’s condition and is the blue to black eye color change a genuine possible part of this disorder?
Yes, the eye color change is a genuine possible part of this disorder. It is not common, but is has been researched and documented and occurs (or has occurred) in many people with BP. As for research, I’ve personally been exposed to people suffering with mental illness, and I admire them very much. Warriors! I also stocked up on my reading.
I am so excited! It’s nothing major but I have found my ideal Gideon Cross. I don’t mind David Gandy but with the short hair he never really fit the vision of Gideon I have in my head. If you don’t already know him, let me be the first to introduce you to Marcus Schenkenberg – model, actor, songwriter…
Whaddya’ think ladies???
Here’s David Gandy for in case you needed a comparative reminder…. 😉
