Between the covers book club

Hello, lovely ladies 🙂

How is your weekend going? Only days to go before we can all read Grey. Isn’t it cool that we’ll probably all be reading it at the EXACT same time? I think it’s AWESOME! I’m excited for next weekend’s book club to hear your thoughts….

Speaking of, I’m sure you’ve seen the theft allegations surrounding the manuscript of Grey. This article about said possible theft by ET Canada is certainly interesting but sadly, leaves us with little clarity on the matter. I, however, just have to say my piece: if you happen upon an illegal copy, just for a moment, consider the joy this story has brought you and ask yourself if the author doesn’t deserve the credit and the cash for the gift she’s given you.

DON’T steal! It’s NOT sexy!

On the lighter side (literally) here are some shades of gray to make you smile 🙂 No more ink in the kitty printer….

Then, as things are finally happening with Darker, The Stir keeps us in the loop.

This week I read:

tb t

Temporary Bliss by BJ Harvey, book one in the Bliss series, was not my idea of Bliss. While the story was okay, the inconsistencies in her writing was maddening. A poolside read at best.

Temptation by Nicole Edwards, book two in the Club Destiny series, was a delicious take on MMF. VERY naughty but oh-so nice. Be warned though – HOT menage action galore!

Currently I’m reading:

tts

Taming the Storm by Samantha Towle, book three in The Storm series. I’ve actually forgotten about this great author. I really enjoyed the first two books and I’m happy to see that the third seems right up there with the previous ones. It also doesn’t hurt that Samantha offers a little help for the imagination on her site. Check out the guys that make up Vintage….

Something for everyone, huh? *wink, wink*

On my shelf I have:

g

(Well, almost! It  will be grace my virtual shelf on Thursday – yay!) Grey by EL James, book four in the Fifty Shades of Grey series. I CANNOT wait!

What an exciting week for us, girls!

  1. I’ve heard that casting gossip before and think it very unlikely, especially with regard to Mrs R, aka Elena. Charlie Theron is FAR too young. Michael Fassbender? Hmmm. Nice, but wishful thinking, is my reaction. 🙂 The ” Leila” one a possibility!

Going to take a break from reading in preparation for Grey, like you Monique I can’t wait. I have already put out the warning that I’ll be doing nothing that day 😀 looking forward to the book club next week to see everyone’s reaction.

Hi lovely Ladies of Grey. I’m all preordered and having a weekend away this coming weekend and one guess what the primary weekend activity is? Me and Christian, baby!! Can’t wait!
This week I finished the Cherise Sinclair Shadowland series with a 2013 book, “If Only” that I hadn’t read before, and enjoyed very much, though the tone of the book wasn’t as expected. She has another book in the series coming out in July, which is on sale for the preorder. That features a female Domme from the club, and I’m looking forward to reading her story.
Then I read book 3 of the “Twist Me” series by Anna Zaire. While reading, I was thinking there must be a book four coming, but this is the conclusion to Nora and Julian’s story. She left plenty of loose threads to continue the story with other characters. This is definitely dark romance, but book three was the least dark of the three to me. Definitely a dark couple…but love them together anyway!! As compared to the descriptions of Bang and Echo, this is nowhere near as intense. I didn’t have to close my eyes once while reading….(does make finishing some scary books a challenge. I’m not going for Bang.) so thumbs up from me for Shadowlands and Twist Me.
I’ve gotten started on another series, that I won’t name because I’m just not that in love with it. But I like the characters enough I keep skimming through just to see their HEA. Anyone else do that? Am I alone? But I’ve bought two books now, and want to STOP spending money when I’m not loving the storytelling. There is just more manipulation and machinations without enough romance, so it just isn’t dragging me in enough. I guess I’m forced to let Christian distract me this next week, then I can move on to something else.
Hugs ladies, woohoo! Excited for Grey!! Love, love the cat running out of ink!!

Great comment and feedback, Sharon. It’s lovely to see how we all experience different series. And yes, I’m with you on the scary books; one eye open, the other shut firmly against the dark! LOL

I originally heard that Fassbender was up for Hyde and had a massive wtf moment. Flynn is definitely more suited ! Friend and I are in agreement that Theron is not suited for Elena at all, but perhaps Jessica Lange ?
Super excited for Grey, no internet here so I might be able to download it at the airport, otherwise it’ll have to wait till I’m back in Perth. I’ll be working at the Tradie Expo Fri-Sun, so won’t be getting much sleep so I can catch up !
I’m in Queensland at the minute, my holiday turning in to an adventure with helping my dad move, getting stuck on the freeway after blowing out a tire and 3am trips between houses moving furniature.
I’ve just finished Do Not Disturb, the sequel to The Girl in 6E by Alessandra Torre. Lovely little adventure, I really like the authors style.
I have Filthy Marcellos: Dante by Bethany-Kris waiting, have been eagerly waiting for this book to finish the series. Love Mafioso stories 👍
I read Vicious Cycle at some stage, don’t remember doing it, but iBooks says I have. I do know I enjoyed it though.
Don’t know what’ll be next, have a few busy weeks before semester starts, then I have a full course load so we’ll see what happens.

You are a busy lady…..I think Jessica Lange is too old for Elena. Elena, I thought was younger than Grace? I could be wrong. How about that girl from Twilight Dallas Bryce Howard? She can sure do the evil face. Nicole KIdman? Anyhow, good luck with your busy schedule.

I am so taken aback by the humor shown in Christian. In the coffee shop he had me laughing out loud too…I just wanna say ” just shut up,and give me my coffee”… As she oogles me!!
