Between the covers book club

Hello, lovely ladies 😉

So? How is the new year treating you so far? One more week of hollies left for me and then back to the grindstone… *sigh*

Apart from Dakota’s wardrobe malfunction at the People’s Choice Awards, news surrounding FSOG is thin on the ground. Hopefully this year will see some action concerning the movie and the missing two books of Grey.

This week I read:

kh iawtc bg

Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras, book one in the Hearts series, was a very cute story. It was warm and sweet with a little light angst, the perfect holiday book. It can be read as a standalone. Thank you, Susan. It was a great Christmas gift 😉

It’s a Wonderful Tangled Christmas Carol by Emma Chase, book 4.5 in the Tangled series, was fantastic. Every time I read a book in this stunning, funny series I’m reminded of the great characters that make up this awesome story. Drew, especially, is an absolute treat. If you’re looking for a great read that has a lovely balance of heat and humour, look no further than Tangled. This series should be read in order.

Bad Girls by Rebecca Chance followed the same vein as the book I read from her last week and she did not disappoint. I’m still loving this interesting, POV-switching format. Great standalone books, nice and long.

Currently I’m reading:

fd

Fighting Destiny by Amelia Hutchins, book one in The Fae Chronicles. Yes, don’t fall off your chair… I’m reading a paranormal book. Thank you, Sharon 😉

Ha! Yes! This made me giggle….

Hi Monique well so far this year I haven’t been very impressed with my reading material 😕 I started Bad Angels but to be honest im 49% in and really not enjoying it, I’m actually finding it a chore to read so I’ve put it to the side for the minute.
I started The Dominator by DD Prince yesterday and this is starting to excite me. I haven’t read much of it but so far so good, I’ll let you know next week!
Enjoy the remainder of your hols

Hi Katherine. Ug, don’t you just hate being in a slump? I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy Bad Angles, I’m enjoying the departure from rich mogul deflowering the naive, young beauty. I especially liked the changes in POV. Hopefully you’ll find some joy in your new book! Have a good week, Katherine 😉

Hi all! I’m envious over your holiday break, Monique. Only teachers get those kind of breaks here, as well as the summers off. And they deserve it, just wish we all had that opportunity.
Hope you have fun with Fighting Destiny! I love a good change of pace between books, otherwise they tend to blend together. And I think the cover is delicious, and is completely what made me try the series. Love a leading lady that can kick ass.
Confession time: I have a really bad habit….I start a book, then if I get distracted, or something happens in the book I don’t like, then I put it down for a while, and it takes me forever to get back to it. Am I alone in this? So right now I am in the middle of Priest, Captivated (though, to be fair, I haven’t got to the part Tiffany Reisz wrote.), the Deal by Elle Kennedy ( it was on sale and highly reviewed). And a couple of others not hot enough to mention. So I’m going to get back to The Deal and finish it. It’s good, but I really need to stay away from college romance for a while after this one..I’m kind of over the frat party scene.
Tangled sounds interesting…I downloaded a sample to check it out, but totally finishing up the books I’ve started first!!

Nope, you’re not alone in trying to avoid something you see coming in a book! LOL! I don’t leave it for long though. I usually get too curious to see how things work out!
Have you not yet read the Tangled series?? Oh my! It rates under my top ten fav series!! Funny and sexy, but at times heart wrenching. You definitely have to read them in order. Let me know if you’re going that way and what you think, Sharon 😉

Ooo. Forgot to mention, saw movie preview on TV for Fifty Shades of Black that was on your blog a couple weeks back. Don’t know if it is one of those movies that the funniest parts are shown in the previews, and the rest is a sleeper….. But it does look funny. I’ll wait for some reviews before I go. It starts in the theatres here the end of the month.

    Christmas Gift.
    Hi ladies,
I got a Christmas gift I have to tell you all about. You will laugh your ass off. Of course my family knows I love all things FSOG
I got a book book with the title “Fifty Shades of Chicken”. The back of the book shows a man with a fab body trussing up a chicken. It says
“This isn’t just about getting me hot till my juices run clear, and then a little rest. There’s pulling, jerking, stuffing, trussing… He promises we’ll start out slow with wine and a good oiling… Holy crap”. “So begins the initiation of the your free-range chicken at the hands of a mysterious, domineering cook.” Recipes including Dripping Thighs, Sticky Fingers, Shicken Sub, Chicken with a Lardon, Learning to Truss you and more.
Oh my God I”m still laughing.
