Between the covers book club

Hello ladies!

book club

Hopefully you had a better book week than I did. Not that what I read was bad, but rather that I didn’t seem to have time for some serious reading this week! 😦

This week I read:

Collide by Gail McHugh was fantastic, but like so many of you warned be about, the cliffie is wicked! URG! If you like LOADS of drama then this is a great read.

Currently I’m reading:

I was supposed to read Down London Road but I shelved it because I forgot that the long awaited book 3 of the Blackstone Affair got released this week: Eyes Wide Open by Raine Miller. So far it’s delivering the goods we loved from both the previous ones.

On my shelf I have:

Happy reading ladies! 😉

Hi Monique, I had a dreadful reading week last week due to the book I read. It was The Siren by Tiffany Reisz.
It took me from Sunday afternoon until Saturday evening to get through this book, it was a chore to read I got no pleasure from it at all.
There are 2 reasons why I continued reading this book, 1st is that as I’ve already said I can’t start a book and not finish and the 2nd is that this book has gotten great reviews I wanted to see why!
I hated everything to do with this book, I couldn’t stand Nora, I was sick to death of Zach moaning about Grace, I wanted to bitch slap Wes for being such a pussy and as for Soren, the less said about him the better.

I am usually sad when I come to the end of a book but in this case I was only sad that I had wasted a week of my life that I’m never going to get back. The book was deleted from my kindle as soon as I finished never to be read again. I had also downloaded The Prince and The Angel by the same author but it will be a cold day in hell before I read anything by her again.

Apologies to anyone who enjoyed this book and this is just my humble opinion.

This week I am planning on reading Release Me and Claim Me both by J Kenner and also Beautiful Bastard so hopefully will be a better week.

Katherine! I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy miss Reisz! You are truly fascinating reader! I don’t know what to do with you! We have the a similar reading background pre erotica but you always surprise me with what you don’t like… 😉 It would be interesting to see what you make of Release Me, I will not be going onto book two. I feel she took FSOG, This Man and Crossfire in a blender and spilt it in a book. Not that I have issues with books similar to the ones we love, but the scenes are all repeated and if you’re going to go up against the big guns you gotta’ bring your A game! BB I loved.

Curious to see what you think about BS. Loved BB but agreed with you that there was a lot of sex. This sex seemed to have a bit more … purpose.

I had a wonderful reading week! Dangerous to Know & Love by Jane Harvey Berrick was released on Thursday! Another winner for this amazing author. I wasn’t sure how I would take to Daniel. From the blurb that came before the book. I was so wrong. I always seem to find a little of myself in janes books. This was no different. It hit me in a very personal way.
It is not one of your 300 page books. You do get a lot for your money.
Lots of anger, tears, laughter, hope and love.
The book is for mature adults. I know I fall into that category.
Do give it a try. Like Monique, Jane Harvey Berrick is beyond the 5 star category.

This week, life got the best of me and I only read one book. But oh how I loved it! I highly recommend this one!! TBR: The Mighty Storm…is it really 1445 pages on the Nook? God I hope not or it will take me forever!

I am reading Thoughtless by S C Stephens. I am enjoying but the heroine is really annoying me. I hate cheating in books.

I know!!! I had the same issue and though I like a heavy dose of longing and drama, it was actually too much for me. I dropped the second book very early on, but Kellan is a very popular book boyfriend..

I’m finally caving into my Sylvia Day series now that the third book is going to be released shortly! I’m a third through reflected in you and loving it! I’m such a drama queen that I want her to toss him to the curve when she came back to lunch and saw Corrine leaving and he didn’t feel the need to explain the lipstick etc. I’m also re-reading Real again in parallel. Do normal people do spend this much time reading??
