Hello Lovely Ladies of Grey 🙂

So, spring has sprung and we’ve even had our first spring rains! I cannot tell you how happy I am to see the back of winter. Yay!

This made me laugh out loud over my cornflakes one morning this week… One for the ladies 🙂

This week I read:

hd s

Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre was an absolute pleasure to read. I loved seeing the softer side of this phenomenal author. Usually she has our heads spinning with the twisty turns or dark paths of her books, but this one was a lovely, gentle story. I absolutely love that her content always comes as a surprise. With no discernible recipe from book to book, you never know what you will get. The only thing you can bank on, is a well written, entertaining piece of work.

Sexy by J.A. Huss was okay, not exactly bad, but after the very interestingly themed Three, Two, One, I expected a whole lot more from this stand-alone novel. Also, I can live with fantasy-like stamina of our male protagonists that lead to the never-ending stream of multiple orgasms of our female leads, but when the lovin’ becomes a physical impossibility due to the restrictions of human anatomy, I take umbrage. LOL!

Currently I’m reading:

hl

Hard Love by Meredith Wild, book five (and hopefully final) in the Hackers series.

On my shelf I have:

dwn

Dark Wild Night by Christina & Lauren, book three in the Wild Seasons series.

That’s bye-bye from me for now, girls. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🙂

Hi Monique, hmmm I’m very curious about what was physically impossible in Sexy now…!!! Do share! I’m glad to hear you say that the stamina of the BBFs and multiple Os of the ladies really are fantasy in these books…I was beginning to see green and think that it was all true…! LOL! I read that JEM left her hubby after falling in love with the real Jesse! Cxx

Oh my… For JEM’s marital shenanigans… Interesting. I wonder if the grass turned out to be greener. As for the piece in Sexy, you asked for it… LOL! So, here’s the scene: she’s straddling him, he’s on his back, now she’s lent forward, chest to chest, and he’s pumping up from his prone position and his balls manage to slap – not her ass (which would be hard enough to do) – but her ASSHOLE!!! Whahahaha! Those must be some MASSIVE swingy nuts!! And do they slap against the floor/bed on their way back down?? That must hurt! Here’s the actual quote from the book: “I mumble out a, ‘Yes,’ but before I can say anything else, he tugs my upper body back down to his chest and starts hammering into me from below. His balls slap against my asshole so hard, I’m breathless.” And yesss for the multiple Os… Wish ’twas real… *sigh*

OMG Monique, that is so funny! Must be some low-hanging, droopy Ts….not a turn-on at all! As for JEM, wonder who he is but how can anyone live up to these BBFs? Reports suggest that more women are into BDSM/purchasing sex toys since FSOG, etc…wonder how many separations/divorces can be attributed to these fantasies, like JEM!

Mhh… That’s disconcerting, Casey. I’ve only ever heard from readers whose love life blossomed from reading the genre, but undoubtedly the reverse can also be tue, especially if a woman isn’t able to separate the fictional fantasy element from reality. That’s a sad thought. I think, ideally, one must go into the genre knowing that it paints an unobtainable standard. I always have to giggle in my sleeve when someones criticises my or another writer’s work in regards to some of the action aspects in the story but no one ever cries fowl over the OTT sex, which, in my view, is probably the aspect where we as lemon writers exaggerate the most! LOL! Ironic, that 😉 Yes, this book’s love scene made me stop and reread, and the ensuing visual was NOT a turn-on, AT ALL! 😉

Totally agree Monique…..I know this genre of books has spiced up the love lives of everyone in my book club. Reading about JEM and her story made me wonder though….surely she being an author would have known better…? Have a great week. Cxx

OK – Trying desperately to get the ball-slapping from the bed to the A-hole out of my head. Reminds me of a popular toy we had back in the 70’s called Clackers….wonder if it sounded the same!! (Look it up, younger people.) Oh my…completely snort-worthy!! My staff is looking at me like I’m zonkers….never mind, people, go back to work! Not going to explain this one!!

Just finished Hollywood Dirt! OMG Alessandra has written so many darkish books, that I never thought I read some light romantic comedy! I absolutely loved the book! It felt so real! It felt like when you fall in love! It felt like when you look back in life, see your mistakes, and then vow to never repeat them, instead embracing your future and being happy! Solemates, worth my time!

    HI ladies.
Well It’s raining today and the temp is 68 here in Southern Oklahoma USA. I am so loving it as we are heading to fall. You gals down under can set outside and drink your tea while I’ll be setting in my house drink hot chocolate.
I have been reading lots this week. I read “With This Collar” by Seirra Cartwright. I give it a 2 out of 5. It had the BDSM I like but the characters were poorly developed and it jumped from the main female character being unsure of how she feels about giving up her independence and then it jumps to being collared and telling the dom(master) she loves him, then it ends. The love story just was never developled and the BDSM was on the extreme side.
I am starting my last book that I have by Cherise Sinclair, “Edge of the Enforcer”. I am a Fan fiction nut and have been reading several storied this week. I know in the past I was upset when I read a Christian cheating on Ana, but I came across a cheating story this week that I just couldn’t pass up. It’s by annabaker71 called “Inauspicious”. This is the first story by this author and it will knock your socks off. Beside Monique this is the best online author I have ever read. This story shows Ana and Chrisitan in a different light that is quite shocking. The hurt and revenge is so well plotted out. Anyway please have a look at it. It really is worth your time. The author has one more chapter to post to complete the story.
I have also read a very heart warming story on fanfiction showing the love Christian has for Ana. It’s called “Forgotten” by WeAreJorus. It says it only has 5 chapters but within those 5 chapter are mulit chapter. This is another fanfiction story you really need to take a look at. Author paints such a picture with her words that you feel like you are there.
Have a great week and Mon I loved the plant sign.

Arrrggghhhh! It drives me nuts when she does that, even more so when she’s not releasing ANYTHING! She’s like the world’s most unreliable writer! I was so hoping for Dec, but I should know better that to hope! I know the fan fic site has Crossfire fic because I’ve posted mine there, but I’ve never read any of it. And I’ve never thought to check for This Man fic, but I doubt there’ll be any. Worth a look though. Let us know what you find, Casey. What are you reading ATM? Are you on Goodreads?

No, haven’t signed up for Goodreads yet….I read FSOG trilogy and Grey again last week and this week I’m re-reading the Shadowlands books….I don’t view the male doms as BBFs but I love the love stories in each book. Next week, I want to re-read the This Man trilogy and the following week the Crossfire series. Since it’ll be a while until OWY, I will look for another recommendation from you after I’ve completed my re-reads! Cxx

Hi Monique returned today from my short break in sunny Spain, didn’t do much reading spent my days drinking cocktails on the beach and my nights partying like an 18 yr old.
The vodka must have numbed the pain because I got of the aeroplane with swollen feet clicking hips and pain in my knees lol 😁
I did make a start on Hard Limit ok so far and like you I really hope it’s the last part.

I’m almost 60 and let me tell you all that between 45 and 60 things really change.Things either fall down, fall out or don’t stay up like they use to. So from one girl friend to another. Use IT like there is no tomorrow cause things change for both you and him. Ha Ha Ha.

Regarding Inauspicious I hated that story after half of chapter 1, she turned CG into something I just couldn’t reconcile in my mind and actually upset me.

Aww, the woes of the cheating stories…. I hear some of them are really good, though. I stopped reading fan fic when I started my story. I didn’t want to get embroiled in the whole “you took that from me” drama, and when I started there were only about 7 stories on the site. Now there are thousands! Amazing! It’s like the Harry Potter of our genre.

Well, obviously Hollywood Dirt is going to be in my future!! Everyone is giving such enthusiastic thumbs up – sounds like you can’t go wrong.
I read the next book in the Dartmoor Series, The Skeleton King. More books to come, I really prefer when I find a series that is complete, and I don’t have to wait forever for the next book! The Dartmoor series has some loving, but not a lot of it. The primary focus is the motorcycle club “family” and characters which are very good. Great storytelling.

And I read the next book in the Chasing the Dream series by Elizabeth Briggs. This one was called More than Comics. This is a New Adult series, but the loving is good…and the book was set at a ComicCon convention. I’ve never been, but always wanted to, so enjoyed visiting in this story. Enjoyed book one, liked this one more, so may or may not go on to book 3, but not right away. These read well as stand-alones. This author does some smart marketing, giving away some free extra scenes in return for a link to your book review. I’ve not seen any other authors do this, and I like the concept quite a bit! Nothing like getting a reward for leaving reviews, good or bad.
I think I’m moving on to Beautiful Player this week.
Mark your calendars for November 15th. That is the publication date for a lovely new writer’s debut novel, the first of the new American Beauty series. It is a definite kickass love story featuring completely fabulous Aiden, who is most worthy of comparison to Gideon & Christian, IMHO. And you know Christian is totally the love of my life, so I don’t say that lightly.

I’ll remind you again AFTER my October month of all things, Tiffany Reisz. Looking forward to being immersed in all things Soren, starting in just over a week!

I’ll check out Chasing Dreams. Sounds good! I love a bit of good lovin’ *nudge, nudge, wink, wink* 😉 I LOVE getting free stuff – ANYTHING!!! Enjoy BP, is so beautifully sweet. Aaaand?? Who’s the debut author?? I see Tiffany Reisz is writing a short for Christmas… Yay! Happy times with Nora, Kingsley and Soren! Enjoy, Sharon 😉

The new author is publishing as Ani Keating….she was keeping her blog up as Ani Surnois, but the publisher wasn’t loving the name. I’m very confident recommending the read to our LOG’s….we just have to wait a couple of more months for it!!
And I keep going back and viewing the window cleaner commercial. I keep thinking one of the hairdressers will whack off a big chunk of hair due to the distraction!! So funny!
I did go ahead and do the magic click on Hollywood Dirt…so it is waiting on my kindle for me! Beautiful player will follow.
