Between the covers book club

Hello, lovely ladies 😉

Winter is edging closer and closer in our part of the world and already I’m wishing it was over! I’m a real ninny when it comes to the cold!

LOL!

The Spanish readers will be delighted with Kereny’s translation of the GQ article. Find it now in the sidebar, girls 😉

With my last post we had a little extra peek into the Red Room, but this Today Show clip reveals a tad more – thank you, Angelique 😉

Beautiful lyrics, huh?

 This week I read:

bs  cs

Beautiful Secret by Christina and Lauren, book four in the Beautiful Bastard series, was AWESOME! This writing duo only gets better and better with every completed book. Player is still my favorite in the series but this one is a close second.

Club Shadowlands by Cherise Sinclair, book one in the Masters of the Shadowlands series was on the disappointing side for me. I certainly can’t fault the author’s style. The book is well written but, to me, it lacked an underlying story. There was nothing that sucked me in and held me captive. The characters had no depth and there was no build-up, no yearning, and no tension or intrigue supporting the steamy scenes. If you want some light reading with a good side of kinky lovin’ then this may be one for you.

Currently I’m reading:

pfos

Pocket Full of Sand my M Leighton. So far I’m loving it but I can tell that this one will be tugging on the ol’ heart strings….

Hopefully you didn’t have a week like this….

Truth! 😉

Have a great weekend, ladies. Have some wine, read a book, and relish the time with your loved ones…

    Good morning Monique and LOG!
Still in my book slump in this genre I’m sorry to say 😣 last week I read Knight and Play by Kitty French for me it was all too fast with no great build up but I also has a huge issue with the fact that Sophie was married despite the fact that Dan was already having an affair two wrongs don’t make a right IMO but I won’t be reading any more of the trilogy. I’ve a few new books to read but they are the genre that I used to read before FSOG so wont bore you with the detail but I am confident I’ll be a happy happy girl when I read them.
I’m heading away on a girls only holiday, 8 days in sunny Spain on Tuesday so will get Beautiful Secret for the beach.
    Have a great week

Yes, I agree, Katherine. They were good but not great and all too easy. I LOVE the build-up, the slow stoke of anticipation. I’m also with you on the unfaithful thing. Very hard to write that and still make the characters lovable. So?? How was glorious Spain?? Always lovely to hear from you!

Ok girls need your help. I am at preasent reading the Masters of Shadowlands and read the Kitty French trilogy last week. None of them are really hitting the mark for me. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy them ,but I want something they will really get your panties wet. The BDSM in Masters of the Shadolands is weak and the build up of the story line in the Kitty French trilogy left a lot to be desired in my heart. Nothing has come close to FSOG and I’m getting tired of rereading it and the fanfiction. SO PLEASE HELP. Give me some ideas of good panties dropping/ wet books to read.
    Thanks,

Another question. Where do most of y’all get your book from. I live in a small town and order most of my books from Amazon, but that can get pricey. Any thoughts?

I only buy e books, Crystal! Super cheap and even free, sometimes! One click buy, instant download on reading apps like Kindle, iBooks, etc. Well worth investing in an reader if you don’t have one or smart phone reading app. Makes reading soooo much easier!

Thanks Monique for the info. I don’t have a reader but for some reason my eyes do better w a book than on the internet. I have found a few other books I would like to ask you or the group about. “The Original Sinner” series, by Tiffany Reisz and “The Marketplace” by Laura Antoniou. Either serise worth my money? i have never been a reader of books except medical, I’m a RN w a masters, so have read lots to get my degree. BUT since FSOG I have found I like reading books that but a smile on my face, pull on my heart strings( not a tear jerker) and add a spark/explosion in my bed. I am reading your meander for the fifth time. It is oh so damn good!!!!

You’re welcome, Crystal 🙂 I used to be the same about “real” books, but the cost and the convenience has swayed me over time and of course you just need the internet to download the book (mere seconds) but once it’s on your device you don’t use the internet to read it. Also, some devices, (such as Kindle) are not backlit which means they have almost exactly the same feel as a real book whereas an app on a smartphone is backlit (more of a computer screen feel). Personally, I adore the Original Sinners series, Tiffany Reisz is an amazing author, but I’ve had readers that didn’t enjoy the story as much. I don’t know Laura Antoniou yet. Sounds like we have the same taste in books!

Do I need to read the Original Sinner Red series first or can I jump to the white series? Some times this shit is so confusion.

Finished Beautiful Secret last night; these ladies get better and better.
I’m still in a slump, just can’t find anything that makes me want to stay up till all hours because I just can’t put it down.
Emma Chase’s new one comes out tomorrow (yay!) From the bits and pieces I’ve read, it’s going to be amazing !
I’m going to Qld for a holiday first week of June, so I’m hoping some more exciting ones come out so I have something to read when I’m over there and for my flights.

I haven’t been yet ! Couple more weeks of Uni to go, going over the day after I finish semester. Dad’s moving closer to Brisbane, so should be interesting.

Love Sweet, Filthy Boy ! Probably one of my favourites. I hate audiobooks but got Sweet, Filthy Morning After, because Ansel, and ended up going the Beautiful series as well, because Max.

Overruled is sitting and waiting, I think I’ll save it for my flight. I’ve got so many bloody books at the moment I don’t know what to read !

Change of subject. FSOG movie is up on Amazon for preorder. They have what they call unrated version. Is that the one to order so it will have some of the uncut scenes. Not sure which version of FSOG to order. Any ideas,

Wow Monique. As usual, what you recommend, never disappoints. I read the hole beautiful bastard series, and omg, Such fun and light stories. And then, jumped into Tight. And god, thats a really strong novel. It made me cry, made me close my tablet, scream and say I wouldnt keep reading, to grab again and keep digging into it. Its really out of the genre, and yet, it still is a love story. Thanks a lot for that story!
